Chapter 76: Chapter 76: This Is Not an Ordinary Car Accident
Compared to Ruby Green’s engagement, Abigail’s engagement was hardly worth mentioning.
Lincoln Green did not appreciate her compromising attitude. He sternly told her to be fully prepared by the twenty-third.
That night, Clark Stone invited her to a hotel with a strange tone. His intentions were clear; he just wanted to disgust her.
Ruby Green sent her congratulations.
Ignoring this group of scoundrels, Abigail informed Lawyer Jones of her situation. He simply replied that he would handle it.
Abigail felt relieved.
She had chosen Benjamin Jones as Aunt Claudia’s lawyer to handle any unexpected events.
Otherwise, there wouldn’t be a need to hire such a renowned lawyer for a small case.
Abigail felt a bit relieved after receiving the response. She turned to take care of Teddy, setting those trivial matters aside.
…
The next day was Teddy’s medical checkup.
Abigail and Kelly packed everything Teddy needed in advance before carrying the little one downstairs.
Unlike adults going out, a lot of items needed to be prepared for a baby, from bottles, bibs, diapers to a stroller. At the end, Abigail also brought some soothing toys.
Brandon Piers watched the two preparing as if they were moving houses. The corners of his mouth twitched slightly. In the end, he just waved his hand to let Pullan load the car.
However, Brandon did not drive his usual black Rolls Royce today but a Range Rover.
Changing cars did not catch Abigail’s attention. What made her take notice was that the car had been modified. It was bulletproof.
Did they need a bulletproof car just for Teddy’s medical checkup?
Abigail did not see it as an exaggeration but instinctively held the baby tighter, a sense of unease rising in her heart. She looked at Brandon Piers with a few traces of inquiry in her gaze.
Brandon sensed Abigail’s glance, somewhat surprised. The modifications on this car were not obvious, but looking at Abigail’s eyes, it seemed she had noticed.
There was a hint of curiosity in his amber eyes. He found Abigail somewhat special.
Would an ordinary female college student recognize a bulletproof car?
“Get in the car.” Brandon maintained his elegant demeanor, his voice soothing, every word making people feel like a spring breeze.
Abigail realized she had stopped in her tracks abruptly. She hurriedly got into the car with Teddy.
Kelly wanted to get in, but Brandon was already one step ahead.
For a moment, Kelly was stunned, not knowing what to do, until Pullan pointed to the front passenger seat, “Kelly, please get in the car.”
Abigail held Teddy, watching the man beside her. Although the car was spacious, Brandon’s presence made it feel cramped.
The atmosphere was somewhat peculiar.
However, Brandon seemed oblivious to the tension, leaning gracefully against the car seat, slowly closing his eyes to take a nap.
Abigail thought, “So calm?”
When Kelly was seated, Pullan started the car and headed to the nearest Sincere Hospital.
The car drove smoothly along the way, and Abigail gradually relaxed, inwardly chiding herself for being overly suspicious earlier.
Bang!
This thought had barely settled when the car suddenly jolted. Then there was a loud bang, and the entire vehicle shook.
Abigail instinctively held Teddy tighter, glancing at Brandon Piers beside her.
The man’s beautiful amber eyes lifted, carrying a thin layer of coldness, which sent a chill down Abigail’s spine.
“Did we get into an accident?” Kelly was terrified, asking blankly from the front seat.
Bang!
As soon as she finished speaking, there was another loud bang, and the car shook again.
Abigail frowned. This was no ordinary car accident.
“Wah… Wah…” A loud cry filled the car, causing Abigail’s face to change.
Teddy had been woken up!
