Chapter 2331: Work as a Waitress

Xia Wen and Xia Yuan looked at Wang Tian with disdain and Qiao Mei felt even more disgusted with the girl. She liked smart people, but she hated people who used their cleverness in a crafty way. Wang Tian’s slyness was written all over her face. People like that were the most dumb!

In order to make Qiao Mei believe her, Wang Tian quickly went into the restaurant to take care of the diners. All the diners today had big smiles on their faces so it looked like this girl did a better job than her staff. However, she did not need such a person working for her.

All the private rooms in the shop were booked up for a long time, so much so that there was no need for them to worry about business for half a year. There was no need for Qiao Mei to invite trouble for herself just to take care of a few ad-hoc diners.

“Let’s go upstairs for our meal. Let her busy herself downstairs if she wants,” Qiao Mei said resignedly.

They walked to the second floor together and entered the Xia family’s private room. All their dishes tonight were all the chef’s signature dishes and they did not need to look at the menu at all.

“Third Cousin-in-law, do you really plan to hire her?” Xia Yuan looked pained as he asked Qiao Mei.

“Do I look like a fool to you? Hire her so that I can be her stepping stone to success?” Qiao Mei asked.

“Then what should I do? I won’t be able to eat delicious food anymore!” Xia Yuan said aggrievedly.

“This is all because you’re too good-looking,” Qiao Mei said.

Xia Wen laughed and said, “Don’t worry. If there’s really no other way, I’ll go and give the Wang family a warning and ask them to keep a tight leash on their daughter.”

“Is that really possible?” Xia Yuan asked curiously.

He had never experienced such a thing before. All along, Xia Wen was the one handling all the family matters for the Xia family. Now that there was Qiao Mei around, Xia Wen was in charge of external issues while Qiao Mei had taken over the internal matters. The Xia family was more and more harmonious now.

“Of course. Just wait for the good news,” Qiao Mei said.

Their dishes were served very quickly and the three of them ate to their heart’s content. Qiao Mei even packed another two portions for them to bring back for their families to try.

Qiao Mei specially arranged for someone to go out and check around. She asked Xia Wen and Xia Yuan to leave only after getting confirmation that there was no sign of Wang Tian. She needed to stay back to speak to the restaurant staff. Unexpectedly, Wang Tian was standing next to Xia Wen’s car and waiting for them!

“Brother Xia Wen, Brother Xia Yuan! You’re done with your meal!” Wang Tian said excitedly.

“Do you need something?” Xia Yuan asked as he looked at Wang Tian coldly.

“Nope! I just wanted to greet you!” Wang Tian said.

“We don’t know each other well. From now on, don’t speak to me. If you harass us again, I’ll call the police.” After saying that, Xia Yuan opened the car door and got in. Xia Wen stepped on the accelerator and sped off.

Wang Tian looked at the departing car for a long time, feeling aggrieved. She cheered herself on and told herself that hard work would always pay off! As long as Xia Yuan was not married yet, she still had a chance!

Since Xia Yuan was not very nice to her today, she decided to go to show her face in front of Qiao Mei again. She did not expect that she was no longer allowed to enter the restaurant! It had only been a short while! What exactly happened!

Qiao Mei closed the restaurant earlier than usual today. She specially stayed behind to have a meeting with all the staff, worried that they would recruit shady characters if left unsupervised. If that happened, the restaurant would be in a mess. Losing money was a small matter, but a lost reputation would be irreparable!

“Today, a person who was not a customer came into the shop and even helped you with your work. Is that true?” Qiao Mei asked with a cold expression.

“Yes…” the young girl who worked as the receptionist replied shakily.

“I hope that this kind of thing will not happen again. From now on, chase away anyone who asks for information about our restaurant, your personal information, information on the menu or the other waitstaff and so on! Have all of you forgotten about the incident where an outsider entered our shop and caused all the customers to be poisoned!” Qiao Mei said fiercely.

“Noted! We’ll remember what you say!” the service staff shouted in unison.

“I’m the one in charge of the restaurant now and you have to follow all my rules and regulations. As for the kitchen, you must take instructions from Chef Sun,” Qiao Mei said as she looked at the new chef, Chef Sun.

“I will definitely do my best,” Chef Sun said firmly.

“I can’t be here every day, so this restaurant still needs a deputy manager. My choice is… Molly,” Qiao Mei said as she looked at Molly.

Molly looked at Qiao Mei in surprise. She had never dreamed that she would become the deputy manager!

“You’re a long-time staff member and you know the situation in the restaurant very well. My mother also trusts you very much, so I feel at ease about appointing you as the deputy manager,” Qiao Mei said.

“Thank you for thinking so highly of me! I will not let you down!” Molly said nervously.

“Alright, that’s all I have to say. I’ll leave the rest to Deputy Manager Molly. Go back to your work.” After saying that, Qiao Mei picked up her bag and left.
