Chapter 57: Wife vs Mistress III
She knew that Leng Sicheng was married and his wife was not someone famous as well. She was just an ordinary woman. Almost no one knew his wife’s identity, name, and even how she looked. On the other hand, Leng Sicheng frequented nightclubs practically every night for some fun. Some also said Leng Sicheng married the woman out of impulse and they would be divorced sooner or later. Others said that even though they were married, his wife did not dare stick her nose into her husband’s business. He had always intended to marry someone that would leave him alone to do whatever he wanted to do.
Still, Gu Qingqing was his legal wife.
When Chen Wenjie picked up the phone, deliberately speaking in a weak and gentle tone. He hung up the call before Chen Wenjie could speak any more. She had no idea that Leng Sicheng was standing behind her and glaring at her. Until today, she still could not forget the way he looked at her while she was holding the phone. She knew that his wrath was not to be messed with. What she did not expect was was him telling her to get lost without giving her a chance to explain herself.
All her public engagements, movies, and upcoming projects were put to halt.
How could that happen?
Everyone thought that he did not care about his wife.
All Chen Wenjie did was pick up the phone. How did she end up like this? When she called her manager, she told her the same thing as well. All her engagements were suspended until further notice. To a budding celebrity like her, this was no different from a death sentence.
After an entire morning of exhausting panic, Leng Sicheng finally lifted the ban before he traveled overseas. He made her focus on completing the shooting of her next advertisement. Of course, she would give it her best to complete any task assigned by Leng Sicheng.
“Director Leng, when are you coming back? It should be freezing in England right now. I just looked at the weather report and it shows that it’s raining over there.”
Suddenly, she realized someone following behind her. When she turned around, she realized it was the employee who stopped her from leaving the company a few days ago. Chen Wenjie frowned and tried to stay far away from her. Gu Qingqing simply passed her looking unperturbed and turned to the pantry to grab a cup of coffee. Chen Wenjie then walked away when she heard the sound of water coming out from the pantry.
While she was there, Gu Qingqing completely focussed on Chen Wenjie’s call to Leng Sicheng. As Lin Zhouyi entered the pantry, he saw that the water in Gu Qingqing’s cup was about to overflow.
“Ms. Gu?” shouted Lin Zhouyi.
Startled, Gu Qingqing jerked her hand, causing the contents of the cup to spill over. Lin Zhouyi quickly turned off the tap. When he saw Gu Qingging bending down to clean the mess, he quickly did the same as well, hoping to assist her. Clearly, Gu Qingqing was deeply embarrassed by the clumsy accident. Lin Zhouyi, on the other hand, realized what was happening and pretended nothing happened.
“It seems choosing Ms. Gu to work in our company turned out to be a blessing after all,” said Ling Zhouyi with a smile.
Again, Gu Qingqing was in shock, startled by those words.
