Chapter 127 New Rumors
“Sure!”
Looking at the message from Emily, Jocelyn heaved a sigh of relief.
She carried the school bag prepared by Butler Sophia and went to Ivy University with Eliza.
Jocelyn was not particularly famous at Ivy University. Although her grades were good, she had to do a lot of part-time work to accumulate tuition and living expenses, so she was considered invisible in school.
On the school rankings, people knew Jocelyn’s name, but they were not familiar with her. Even the students in her major had no impression of Jocelyn.
However, all of this was before Jocelyn became Aren’s fiancée, and before the large wave of false rumors on the Internet spread.
Jocelyn was now considered a famous person in Ivy University. Although she wasn’t seen often, most of the people in the school knew of her existence and recognized her face. Therefore, when Jocelyn arrived at the school gate, she acutely sensed that something was wrong.
“Eliza, don’t you think they’re looking at me? And their eyes are weird,” Jocelyn whispered, poking Eliza in the arm. “Yes.” Eliza nodded. In fact, she noticed it even before Jocelyn did.
Eliza had been accompanying Jocelyn these few days and did not know what was happening at school. The two of them walked into the university campus in confusion.
Along the way, more and more such gazes were thrown at them. They had no intention of converging at all. Instead, because Jocelyn and Eliza were looking at them more openly, they discussed something in a low voice with the people around them.
“What’s happening? Is there a note on me?” Jocelyn walked up to Eliza and turned her back to her. “Can you take a look at my back?”
Eliza glanced up and down at Jocelyn and found nothing on her. “There is no note, darling.”
“Instead of continuing to guess, why don’t I get someone to ask?” Eliza said as she walked up to the group of people closest to her.
“Hi! Miss, can I ask what you are discussing?” Eliza interrupted their conversation.
The girl who spoke sized up Eliza and looked a little hesitant. She felt that Eliza looked very familiar, as if she had seen her before. Moreover, Eliza’s gaze looked very dangerous. This made the girl not want to speak another word to Eliza, afraid that she would encounter some trouble.
As the girl was retreating vigilantly, Eliza raised an eyebrow, making her face look even more aggressive. She looked like she was challenging her prey. Although there was a faint smile on her lips, her eyes were cold as if she was looking at an ant on the ground. This gaze gave the people a lot of pressure, making them want to leave but not dare to.
Finally, a slightly plump girl came to the front of the crowd and looked Eliza in the eye. “Are you friends with Jocelyn?”
The girl pointed a finger in Jocelyn’s direction. Eliza nodded.
Eliza watched as the girls’ eyes lit up. They wanted to go forward and surround Eliza, but they were afraid of Jocelyn who was not far away.
Because they didn’t want Jocelyn to hear their conversation, they could only restrain themselves from standing there. However, this still couldn’t stop their eager expressions.
“Since you’re her friend, you must know a lot about her.”
Eliza nodded again. The girl in the lead clapped her hands excitedly and mumbled, “That’s good.”
“I heard that Jocelyn’s life is especially messy in private. The thing that is circulating online is actually true, and Master Aren clarified it simply because he didn’t want Jocelyn to implicate the company, right?”
Eliza thought that the rumor was no longer a thing, but she didn’t expect people to still talk about it. This made Eliza’s expression turn angry.
“Who did you hear that from?” Eliza gritted her teeth, looking like she wanted to eat the person who was spreading rumors about Jocelyn.
“I don’t know about that. Anyway, by the time I found out, this news was already widely spread in Ivy University.” The girl shrugged indifferently and then looked at Eliza curiously.
“Also, I heard that she hasn’t returned to her house for a few days. Does she have a new boyfriend outside? That’s why she hung out until nighttime and didn’t return home for the past few days.”
