Chapter 136 Unable to Find Her Classroom
At the risk of angering Aren, Luke expressed his thoughts with a shudder.
Where in New York could Aren find a good assistant like him? He had lost two pounds recently because of Aren’s marriage. If Aren did not give him a big bonus at the end of the year, he would definitely cry. As Luke thought to himself, he carefully observed Aren’s expression in the rearview mirror.
Aren first sneered in disdain, then looked deep in thought. Finally, he said flatly, “Then go to the flower shop to buy a bouquet later. I’m not trying to make her happy. I just don’t want people to think I’m stingy.”
“Yes, I understand.” Luke looked stern, but he was feeling happy for Aren inside. He knew that Aren was a little weird, but he didn’t expect him to be so weird. He obviously wanted to give Miss Jocelyn flowers, but he wouldn’t admit it no matter what.
Luke parked his car in front of a flower shop. “Please wait a moment. I’ll be right out.” With that, Luke walked into the flower shop.
This seemed to be a small flower shop, but when one walked in, they would find that the small shop was packed with all kinds of flowers, as if life was flourishing. Without needing to buy, just looking at it would make people feel happy from the bottom of their hearts.
“Sir, what kind of flowers do you want to buy? Is it for someone?” The owner smiled and sized up Luke with his light blue eyes. After confirming that Luke was a big customer, his smile became even friendlier.
“I need a bouquet of roses for my girlfriend,” Luke said.
“I wonder if you have any special requests for the bouquet?”
“As long as it’s not pretty.” Luke didn’t know much about flowers, but girls liked pretty things, so as long as it was done beautifully.
Hearing Luke’s request, the owner smiled even more happily. He liked these kinds of rich and agreeable customers. “Alright, please wait here for a moment.”
The owner was very quick. He gathered the prettiest and most expensive flowers in the store and in ten minutes, he made a large bouquet of red roses for Luke.
Luke looked at the bouquet in his hand and was very satisfied with the owner’s flower arrangement skills. He paid the bill without hesitation.
“If you think the service is satisfactory, you’re welcome to come back again.”
Luke returned to the car with the red roses in his arms.
He placed the red roses beside Aren and started the car again, heading to the Ivy University where Jocelyn was.
Jocelyn, who was chatting with Eliza over coffee, did not know that her fiancé, Aren, was already on his way to find her.
Seeing that it was almost time for lunch break, Jocelyn stuffed the last bite of cake on the plate into her mouth and urged Eliza.
“We need to hurry up. It’s almost time for the next class. The professor for my next class is Professor Russell. He hates it when his students are late.”
Although Eliza and Jocelyn were not in the same major, Eliza was familiar with Professor Russell’s name. In the entire school, Professor Russell was ranked in the top five in terms of strictness.
At this thought, Eliza ignored the cupcakes on her plate. She picked up her bag and walked out with Jocelyn.
“Oh my god, darling, I feel bad for you. Let’s go quickly. Don’t let Professor Russell catch you being late for class, or you will be done for,”
Jocelyn and Eliza quickly ran towards the teaching building. The moment Jocelyn sat down, Professor Russell appeared in the classroom.
He looked at the packed classroom with a face as stern as usual.
Soon, the bell rang, signaling the beginning of his reign.
Aren was holding the roses in his arms with an unnatural expression. When the bell rang, he entered the campus. When he stood on campus, he realized that he didn’t know what Jocelyn’s major was and the classroom she was in.
This made Aren’s face stiffen.
