Chapter 152 Coming Clean to Eliza
Hearing Jocelyn’s sobbing voice, Eliza stopped teasing her, and her expression gradually turned solemn.
Eliza knew Jocelyn. Perhaps because of her family, Jocelyn was very independent. Only when she couldn’t face the situation she found herself in would she look for help from someone else.
“What’s wrong? What happened? Did someone cause you trouble?”
Eliza said as she quickly walked out, ignoring the lesson that would start in ten minutes. Compared to those boring classes, she was more afraid that something bad would happen to Jocelyn.
As Jocelyn listened to Eliza’s concerned voice, she felt a surge of warmth in her heart.
It was great to have such a good friend by her side at all times!
“It’s hard to explain in a word or two. Let’s meet up. I’ll tell you in person.” Jocelyn looked up at the sun. It was already afternoon, and the sun was burning hot. It was so hot that it made people dizzy.
On the phone, Eliza agreed without a moment of hesitation. “Sure. Go to the east gate of the school. My car is parked there. Give me ten minutes and I’ll rush over as soon as possible.”
“Alright, take your time. There’s no hurry.” Jocelyn was afraid that Eliza would bump into something if she was in a hurry, so she quickly reminded her. However, Eliza had already hung up.
Her kind reminder didn’t reach Eliza, because she was already running on the road. She arrived at the east gate almost at the same time as Jocelyn. Seeing the blush and sweat running down Eliza’s face, Jocelyn quickly took out a handkerchief from her bag and handed it to her.
“Don’t run next time. You can just walk. If you run too quickly, your stomach will hurt.”
Eliza covered her face with Jocelyn’s handkerchief. She wondered if Jocelyn had sprayed perfume on the handkerchief. Eliza could smell woods on the handkerchief. It was the scent of an extremely comfortable tree.
She wiped the sweat off her face and put the handkerchief into her bag. “I’ll give it to you after I wash it clean.”
“Don’t worry. It’s just sweat on it.”
“That’s my peculiarity. I have to wash it clean before giving it back to you.”
Since Eliza insisted, she wouldn’t decline.
“By the way, what perfume did you use on your handkerchief? It smells pretty good.”
Eliza opened the car door and got into the car. She asked as she buckled her seatbelt.
“I didn’t use perfume. It’s just that I wash it with a handmade soap. If you like the smell, I can give you a piece.” Eliza nodded and did not decline.
After making sure that Jocelyn was buckled up, Eliza stepped on the gas and drove away. Jocelyn did not ask where Eliza was taking her. She just quietly enjoyed the wind that was hitting her in the face.
When Eliza stopped the car, Jocelyn found that she was taking her to a restaurant.
“My father owns this restaurant. We didn’t eat much at noon, so we can talk while eating here.”
“Okay.” Jocelyn nodded.
She followed Eliza into the reserved room. After casually ordering some dishes, the waiter left the room, leaving the room to Eliza and Jocelyn.
“Didn’t you say on the phone that you need my help with something? What is it? Tell me.”
Eliza, who had been holding her breath the entire time, looked at Jocelyn and waited for her answer.
The moment she called Eliza, she was already prepared to come clean. Moreover, while on their way here, Jocelyn had been thinking about it and made up her mind.
So she didn’t stay silent for long. After organizing her words, she told Eliza about her contract marriage with Aren and how she was threatened by Miles.
When a secret was kept in the heart for too long, it would turn into a wound. Although Jocelyn’s secret had not reached the point of becoming wound, it did burden her to a certain extent.
Now that she came clean, Jocelyn felt much better. She felt like she was suddenly 20 pounds lighter and could fly at any time.
Jocelyn was relaxed, but Eliza was so shocked by these two things that she could not recover from the shock.
She thought that it was love at first sight between Jocelyn and Aren, but she didn’t expect it to be just a cooperation.
