Chapter 154 Friends Falling Out
Looking at how dispirited Diana was, Susan couldn’t bring herself to blame her. Instead, she comforted Diana, “No, it was me who startled you. Please don’t blame me.”
Diana shook her head, indicating that she did not take it to heart.
“Why are you suddenly looking for me today? Don’t you need to go to class?”
Diana and Susan had known each other for a long time and were friends because they both studied art.
However, the two of them studied in different fields and majors. Diana studied the violin, while Susan studied painting. After graduation, Diana went to Vienna to continue her studies, pursuing her dreams and working hard to develop her career. Meanwhile, Susan chose to become a highschool teacher.
Normally, Susan would be in the classroom teaching her students.
Susan facepalmed, saying, “Looks like you didn’t listen to me at all just now. I took leave from school to visit you because I was worried about you.”
Hearing that, Diana smiled awkwardly. “I’m sorry, I was distracted just now and didn’t listen carefully.”
“Don’t worry.” Susan shrugged her shoulders. At this moment, Winston came to the two of them with the black tea.
“This is the freshly brewed Keemun Black Tea, please enjoy it.”
Winston put down the black tea and the dessert he had prepared and retreated.
“So can you tell me what happened these two days that made you become like this?”
Confronted with this question, Diana shook her head with a half-smile. She had no intention of telling Susan the truth about what had happened between her and Aren.
She was also not interested in opening up her scars in front of others again and again to show others her wounds. Other than making herself more painful, it would not bring her any benefits or speed up the healing of her wounds.
The silence from Diana made Susan more worried and slightly resentful.
Why did she take leave at work and rush over? It was all because she was worried about Diana!
However, Diana didn’t appreciate it at all. She didn’t want to tell her anything. This made Susan feel like there was a mountain separating her and Diana.
“I came to visit you because I treat you as a friend. But if you don’t want to tell me anything, then forget it. I’m leaving. I won’t bother you anymore.”
Susan grabbed her bag and wanted to leave. She came to visit Diana out of kindness, but Diana gave her the cold shoulder. She couldn’t take it lying down.
However, when she stormed out of the room, Diana did not stop her. This made Susan even angrier.
“I’m not coming to see you again. I’m not your friend anymore.” With red eyes, Susan shouted at the doorway.
This was the most unladylike thing that Susan, who had always thought of herself as a lady, had done. But now, Susan could not care less about this. She felt that her heart was broken.
Diana sat on the sofa in the room and looked at the exquisite desserts in front of her without moving at all. Winston walked in with a worried expression.
“Miss, Miss Susan seems to be very angry. Do you need to send a message to apologize to her?”
Diana had been very excellent since she was young, but she didn’t have many friends. Susan was by far the best friend she had in recent years. Winston didn’t want Diana to lose Susan as a friend. Otherwise, she would be very lonely.
However, Diana shook her head and rejected Winston’s suggestion.
She wasn’t in the mood to pacify Susan now. In fact, she wasn’t even in the mood to do anything. Diana felt like life was not worth living.
She was originally going to be an excellent violinist and become famous internationally, but her hand was injured, making her unable to pursue the career she liked. But fortunately, she still had love at that time. Even without her beloved career, the days with her beloved by her side were not all that bad. But when she returned to New York, her world crumbled.
The person who used to love her so much said cruel things to her in the blink of an eye. It was as if their love before was just a delusion.
