Chapter 173 Making the Call
Almost instantly, the faces of the doctors in the hospital turned pale. Some of the especially timid ones were already hugging each other, and their bodies were trembling non-stop.
“Why are you all standing there like a dummy? Hurry up and work! If you’re one step slower, my bullets will hit you.”
Luke’s threat was very effective. For the sake of their lives, even though these doctors were extremely afraid, they still moved their trembling legs to look at Jocelyn.
Seeing that Jocelyn was lying on the hospital bed and sleeping peacefully, a few doctors looked at each other and started to make a preliminary diagnosis of her.
While the doctors were saving Jocelyn from death, Susan came to the hotel reception desk. As usual, she bribed the staff with money, wanting to know what had happened in the hotel after Aren and the others came in.
However, the cameras in the hotel could only capture the scene of certain areas. Susan couldn’t see the situation completely, which made her pissed off. At this moment, Diana sent a message.
(How is the situation going theret?]
Although she could not see Diana’s face, Susan knew that she must be very anxious. Unable to help her good friend, Susan felt guilty and called Diana.
Seeing the call that she had been expecting, Diana answered without a moment of hesitation. “What happened theret? What exactly happened?”
Susan licked her lower lip and said, “I’m sorry, Diana. I didn’t find out what exactly happened. Aren left with Jocelyn in his arms.”
“After all, there are no cameras in the room, so…”
Diana bit her finger even harder. The blood that flowed out of the wound stained her lips, making her already twisted face look even more sickly.
After about a minute, Susan still did not hear from Diana. If not for the rapid breathing on the other end of the phone, Susan would have thought that Dana had hung up.
“Are you all right, Diana?” Jocelyn asked.
“I didn’t manage to find out what happened because there isn’t enough time. I believe that given more time, I will get to the bottom of
it.”
In fact, Susan was not completely confident, because Aren was the leader of South Side after all. In Aren’s territory, it was very easy for him to suppress information, but it would be very difficult for others to investigate.
However, Susan could tell from the rapid breathing that something was wrong with Diana. Therefore, even though she was not absolutely confident, she had to make some promises to calm her down.
As expected, on the other end of the phone, Diana looked much better after hearing Susan’s promise.
“Thank you, Susan. Thank you for helping
me.”
“Don’t worry, we’re friends. If you really want to thank me, treat me to a meal.”
“Sure, you can decide where to go, but I still need your help on this matter. I can’t find anyone else who can help me except you.”
Hearing the weak tone Diana spoke with, Susan couldn’t bring herself to hold a grudge against Diana anymore.
“Don’t worry, I’ll help you,” Susan promised Diana. After comforting her, Susan hung up.
But after hanging up on Diana, Susan didn’t relax. Instead, she turned on her phone again to think about the people who could help her and sent them a message asking for help.
While Susan was busy, Wilson’s family was busy too.
A week later, Maria still didn’t get the results she wanted. No one was discussing Jocelyn on the school forum at all. When she walked into Ivy University, some people didn’t even know Jocelyn existed.
This was far from the goal that Maria set out to achieve in slandering Jocelyn.
Once again, Maria smashed everything that she could see in her room to the ground. When Mrs. Wilson walked into her room, she saw a floor covered with broken glasses and cosmetics.
She had just bought the cosmetics for Maria. This set of cosmetic products was not only expensive but also limited in number. She had fought hard to get this set and did not expect Maria to not cherish it.
