Chapter 186 Pretending To Be Asleep
Subconsciously, he looked at the closed door with a sense of guilt. When Aren realized what he had just done, his face fell again. He forced himself to look away and return his attention to the phone.
“Does the media know about it?”
“Someone took a picture of you two, but I took care of him. Don’t worry, without your permission, they won’t let out a word.”
Although Keller was a Casanova who had a lot of women around him and liked to have fun, his ability to do things was trusted by Aren.
“Why do you suddenly care about this? Are you afraid that if the news spreads, Miss Jocelyn will see it?”
“She has nothing to do with this. I just don’t want this to trouble Diana. Besides, I’m already engaged. If word gets out that I’m meeting another girl in private, it won’t be good for the Brown family.”
“Alright, alright. If you say it’s for the family, then it’s for the family.” Keller shrugged and didn’t expose Aren.
“That’s all I have to say. There’s nothing else. Bye.”
The phone then went dead silent.
In the room, Jocelyn didn’t know what Aren was doing outside. She waited in the room for a while and when she saw that Aren had not returned, she got up from the bed. Just as she was about to leave, she heard a sound from the door.
When Jocelyn realized that Aren was back, her body went back under the blanket, almost as a reflex action. Only when she pulled the blanket over her head did Jocelyn realize what a fool she had been.
Jocelyn frowned and curled up her body, thinking about what she had done.
Why on earth did she pretend to be asleep! If she got up now and told Aren that she had woken up, would it be too late?
While Jocelyn was feeling conflicted, Aren came to her side. He stood by the bed and looked at Jocelyn, who was covered up tightly. The frustration and annoyance he felt just now were gone all of a sudden, and a smile came upon his face.
He was not blind. Anyone with a pair of eyes could see what Jocelyn just didn.
At the thought of Jocelyn’s quickly retreating under the blanket, Aren reached out and tugged at the blanket around her. “It’s getting late. Do you want to spend the night in the hospital?”
“I already saw that you’re awake. Get up, let’s go home.”
Hearing Aren’s voice, Jocelyn blushed, thinking to herself that Aren must have seen her crawling back under the blanket. That was why he knew that she had woken up without asking
Jocelyn took two deep breaths under the blanket and slowly pulled the blanket over her down, revealing her large round eyes. Looking at Aren, who was standing by the bedside, her face went red with shame.
More like a rabbit, Aren thought.
When she was facing bad guys, she was fearless, but why in front of him, she was like a broken doll?
Aren found that he suddenly could not understand Jocelyn and did not know which one was the real her. However, he did not hate such a Jocelyn. Instead, he wanted to hug her and repair her body.
Of course, the angry Jocelyn with her cheeks puffed up was also very cute.
“Do you still want to stay in the hospital?”
Hearing that, Jocelyn shook her head. She used her eyes to tell Aren to stay away from the bed.
However, Aren did not seem to understand what Jocelyn meant at all. He stood in front of Jocelyn like a statue and urged her to get up again.
Seeing that Aren had no intention of leaving, Jocelyn finally gave up struggling. If she continued to pester him, she might not be able to return to Stephen’s house before dark.
Although Butler Sophia would prepare dinner for her even if she went back a little late, Jocelyn didn’t want to cause unnecessary trouble for others.
Therefore, she gave in.
Under Aren’s gaze, Jocelyn got up from the bed. After briefly tidying herself, the two of them walked out of the hospital.
