Chapter 197: Sleeping With Jocelyn
Aren’s tall body was curled up on the sofa, looking a little pitiful. When he was sleeping, he looked like an obedient boy.
Jocelyn stood in front of Aren and looked at his good-boy face in amusement, her eyes unavoidably getting softer.
She thought that a man like Aren would frown even when he was sleeping and look extremely serious. She didn’t expect him to be as obedient as a child.
What’s more, he actually left the soft bed to her. The anger she had accumulated towards Aren instantly dissipated.
“Good night,” Jocelyn mouthed.
Then, she climbed into bed, and covered herself with the blanket. After letting out a long yawn, the sleepiness kicked in and she fell asleep in a second.
When Jocelyn’s steady breathing was heard in the room, Aren, who had been sleeping, suddenly opened his eyes. There was no trace of sleepiness in that pair of bright eyes at all.
Aren sat up from the sofa and stretched his stiff body before walking nimbly to Jocelyn’s bed.
Looking at Jocelyn’s angel-like face, Aren climbed into bed and lay beside her. He reached out and wrapped an arm around Jocelyn’s slender waist.
In her sleep, Jocelyn felt like her body was wrapped around by a gigantic octopus, but she didn’t wake up. She frowned in her sleep and rolled into Aren’s arms.
Aren rested his chin on the top of Jocelyn’s head and slowly drifted into a deep slumber, feeling peaceful.
When the sunlight cast into the room through the curtain at seven in the morning, Aren opened his eyes. Looking at Jocelyn who was still sleeping soundly in his arms, Aren’s heart softened, and he did not wake her up.
Gently, Aren climbed out of bed. After putting on his suit, he walked out of the bedroom. On the large bed, Jocelyn buried her head in the blanket to avoid the light from the outside.
“Good morning, Grandma.”
Looking at Madam Brown, who had woken up early in the morning to water the flowers in the garden, Aren greeted her.
“Good morning, Aren. Is Jocelyn still not up?” Old Madam Brown looked behind Aren and didn’t see her sweetheart, so she looked a little disappointed.
If she could see Jocelyn in the morning, she believed that her day today would be terrific. Old Madam Brown handed the sprinkler to the maid and pouted.
Aren explained, “She was too tired yesterday, so I didn’t wake her up. Grandma, don’t let anyone disturb her. Wait until she wakes up.”
Hearing that, Old Madam Brown looked at him reproachfully. She shook her head disapprovingly. “I know you like Jocelyn, but don’t be so anxious. She’s still injured.”
“As a gentleman, you should take care of girls.” Old Madam Brown patted Aren’s shoulder.
Aren realized that Old Madam Brown might have misunderstood him, but he did not explain. Instead, he raised his eyebrows naughtily and nodded.
Just when Old Madam Brown was about to pull Aren to join her in a leisurely breakfast, Butler Camilla walked in. “Madam, there is a lady outside called Susan. Do you want her to come in?” Susan?
Madam Brown recalled for a moment and finally remembered that Susan was the daughter of the Katlin family. Old Madam Brown vaguely remembered that she seemed to be a good friend of Diana’s.
However, she was not exactly close to Aren. In the years when Aren and Diana broke up, the two families almost stopped seeing each other.
Why did Susan come to the Brown family?
Although Old Madam Brown was old, she was not stupid. She knew that Diana had returned to New York. At the thought that Susan came for Diana, Madam Brown’s expression became much more serious.
“Since she is here, invite her in. Don’t let her wait outside.”
Butler Camilla obeyed the order and brought Susan in.
On the way, Susan followed Butler Camilla. Remembering why she was here today, Suan hesitated for a moment before attempting to say to Butler Camilla, “Did I disturb Madam and Master Aren so early in the morning?”
“Don’t worry, Miss Susan. You didn’t disturb Old Madam and Master. They always wake up early,” Butler Camilla replied politely.
“I wonder what time Master Aren usually goes to work. Is he still at home at this time?”.
