Chapter 199: Blatant Warning
At the mention of Jocelyn, Old Madam Brown raised her eyebrows, finally looking interested.
“Something to do with Jocelyn? What has something to do with her?”
Old Madam Brown’s question was an encouragement for Susan. This time, Susan did not take a pause. She went straight to the point.
“I heard from a friend that he saw Miss Jocelyn outside the campus during class time. Actually, skipping class is not a big deal, but…”
“But he then saw Miss Jocelyn enter a hotel, which is a very famous love hotel outside the school. At first, my friend thought that Miss Jocelyn was dating with Master Aren there.”
“But later, he thought that Master Aren probably wouldn’t go to such a low-grade hotel. He thought it was strange, so he spent money to ask around and found out that Jocelyn was actually seeing a strange man.”
What could a woman and a man do inside a hotel room? Susan was practically pointing at Jocelyn’s nose, accusing her of betraying Aren.
Old Madam Brown looked at Susan, who was sitting in front of her, and smiled.
Aren was her only grandson. As his grandmother, Old Madam Brown naturally had done more than enough investigation into Jocelyn. Before they announced their engagement, Old Madam Brown alwady knew everything there was to know about Jocelyn.
So she didn’t believe a single word of Susan’s accusation or slander against Jocelyn. If Jocelyn was actually such a wicked girl, she wouldn’t have been bullied over and over by Mrs. Wilson and Maria for so many years.
As the old madam of the Brown family, she had seen all kinds of people in her life, and Jocelyn was by means the kind of bad girl in her book.
After saying that, Susan looked at Old Madam Brown with a sympathetic look. She even thought about what to say to comfort Old Madam Brown, but instead of getting angry, Madam Brown smiled.
This was not what she expected. Shouldn’t Old Madam Brown get angry upon hearing that her grandson was cheated by his fiancee?Or did something happen that Susan did not know about?
At this moment, Susan was lost, having no clue where she was nor what was gonna happen. Suddenly, she was snapped back to reality by what Old Madam Brown said.
“I don’t know what you are talking about, but Jocelyn had been staying with Aren the entire day yesterday. ”
Staying with Aren?
When Susan heard this, she immediately tightened her grip on her dress and almost lost control of her composure. She even wanted to ask Jocelyn if she knew any magic. Otherwise, why would Old Madam Brown lie for her.
She saw Jocelyn walk into the hotel with her own eyes. How could she be wrong?
Old Madam Brown continued, “After you go back today, please don’t spread this kind of fake rumors and don’t cause Jocelyn any trouble.”
“Jocelyn is a very obedient and lovable child. I don’t want to hear anything bad about her from others. This time, I won’t hold it against you since you meant good for Aren, but no next time. Otherwise, I will be angry at you, and the Brown family will be angry at you too.”
Susan didn’t expect that not only did Old Madam Brown not believe her, but she even warned her.
Yes, this was a blatant warning.
Old Madam Brown was warning Susan to shut up. If this news spread, Susan would definitely be punished by her.
Although Old Madam Brown looked like a kind old lady, when she was young, she wasn’t known to be someone with a good temper. The people who offended her and made her unhappy were now staying with God.
Realizing this, Susan froze with fright. Her family could not afford to offend Old Madam Brown.
Looking at the fear on Susan’s face, Old Madam Brown felt no guilt at all.
When footsteps came from the direction of the stairs, Old Madam Brown smiled broadly and sincerely, “Baby Jocelyn, you’re awake.”
Hearing that, Susan, who was immersed in fear, turned her head and followed Old Madam Brown’s gaze.
Jocelyn! Why is she here!.
