Chapter 60: You Calculate It Clear Enough
“You can ask me for anything you want,” negotiated Shen Mochen formally.
Shui Miaomiao raised the corner of her lips a little, ” I thank President Shen sincerely for thinking highly of me. However, I am confident that I can support my son. Marriage is a thing that is not suitable for me.”
Shen Mochen looked at Shui Miaomiao straight.
Shui Miaomiao summoned up his courage and said what she wanted to say, “This time, I really appreciate President Shen’s help, but there is no need. I think we should not meet in the future. President Shen should find a more suitable person. I want a quiet and simple life.”
“Are these words from your heart?” asked Shen Mochen in a deep voice as the look in his eyes sharpened a little.
“Yes,” said Shui Miaomaio as she nodded.
“You haven’t had even a little crush on me?” Shen Mochen raised his eyebrows and looked at Shui Miaomiao.
“No,” said Shui Miaomiao with certainty.
“Got it! I will never disturb you again,” Shen Mochen got up, clenched his chin, and strode outside.
Shui Miaomiao glanced at the table. There was still much to eat.
“Waiter, the bill,” called Shui Miaomiao.
The waiter came over and said politely, “That’s 501.”
“Ah? Isn’t the price should be a little more than 400?” blurted Shui Miaomiao.
“We need to add 80 for the service charges,” said the waiter with a smile.
Shui Miaomiao understood it. She picked up her wallet, and there were only 302 in it. If she knew this would happen, she wouldn’t have given Yanyan the 200.
Shui Miaomiao looked at the waiter with a grin and asked, “Can I pay by credit card?”
“Sure,” said the waiter respectfully, with a tint of disdain in his eyes.
Shui Miaomiao ignored the waiter’s look and said, “Also, help with the takeaway.”
“We have to add five RMB for the packing fee,” said the waiter.
“Sure,” Shui Miaomiao took out her credit card from her wallet.
When the waiter got the call, he immediately said to Shui Miaomiao, “Sorry, miss. The gentleman just now has already paid the bill. You only need to pay the five RMB for the takeaway.”
“Oh,” Shui Miaomiao lowered his eyes and responded with a sound.
Although Shen Mochen paid the money, Shui Miaomiao felt uncomfortable in her heart, because she had asked to treat him to the meal, and she wanted to pay him back. To make sure there would be nothing between them anymore.
She went out and saw Shen Mochen’s car at the door.
He slowly lowered the window and looked at her grimly.
Shui Miaomiao came forward and said, “The money for food and clothes. I will pay them to you back next week.”
Shen Mochen lifted the corner of his mouth a little. With a bit of sneer, he said, “You calculate it quite clearly.”
He threw the football out.
Shui Miaomiao subconsciously caught it.
“When a child has an idol, it will become the driving force of life for him,” said Shen Mochen in a deep voice.
Shui Miaomiao knew that Shen Mochen had seen through all her lies before.
He always knew the football belonged to Yanyan.
“Thanks,” said Shui Miaomiao, holding the ball in her arms.
“You have been to America,” repeated Shen Mochen.
Shui Miaomiao had a tremble in her heart–her grip on the football got stronger. She showed a bright smile and said, “I have not been there. If I had the money to go to the United States, would my life be so poor? I didn’t, of course.”
Shen Mochen looked at her intensely, and he did not speak more. His brilliant eyes turned and looked forward as he drove away.
Shui Miaomiao looked at the football in her arms.
In this world, the only person she needed to cherish was Yanyan.
