Shen Shian turned his head and found books scattered all over the square. The bookshelves were in pieces, apparently from being pushed down from upstairs.

His line of sight moved, and behind the wide-opening window on the fourth floor, he saw Zhang Ze’s somber eyes.

Rich man Miao and Li Cheng also saw him. Rich man Miao screamed. “What does this kid want?! Does he want to bring back the zombies and trap us here alive?!”

Attracted by the sound, some zombies had come from the South Square. Zhang Ze raised his hand, and another bookcase full of books fell down from the fourth floor.

“Bang”

“I’m so fu*king mad, f*ck him, f*ck his eighteenth generation ancestor.”

Rich man Miao looked around anxiously when a louder explosion sounded suddenly in the direction of the South Square. The zombies that had not completely turned around stopped for a while and turned back and continue slowly to the south square.

Li Cheng, who was holding the thornstick, couldn’t fully react. He turned his head to rich man Miao with a face that said, What’s happening?

Shen Shian looked at Zhang Ze for a few seconds, then retracted his eyes and looked at the duo.

Before he left, he went to the first floor of the library. He left food and medicine for Ms. Dong, but he also made an agreement with her. He would gave her five incendiary bombs made with glass bottles and gasoline. If after the mobile phone sounds, there is any unusual sound in the direction of the north square of the library that may attract zombies, Ms. Dong would use her ability to detonate the incendiary bomb in the direction of the south square.

Facts have shown that this safety plan has not been left in vain.

The zombie was re-attracted by the loud noise of the incendiary bomb explosion, and Shen Shian and his team disappeared into the green on both sides of the road as planned.

In the corner that Shen Shian didn’t see, Shen Xun stretched out his finger and drew a circular pattern in the air. He wrote the word ‘Zhang Ze’ in the center of the pattern, then bit his fingertip, and shot a drop of blood into the circle.

Watching the four people leaving, Zhang Ze felt that his neck was cold. When he turned around, he was met with the mutilated oval faced man’s smiling face

Thirty-seven minutes after leaving the library, the group of four successfully reached the overpass. After clearing the zombies on the overpass, Li Cheng and rich man Miao collapsed on the ground. They looked at each other and laughed. Ten minutes later, Shen Shian and his child drove the car under the overpass and rang the horn to tell them to get in the car.

Because of the crashed plane, most of the zombies in the area were attracted to the library, so at other places, it was exceptionally empty. It took a long time to see a few scattered ones.

When Shen Shian left home and went to the city center, he had seen the situation of the roads in the city center being blocked. He had thought that he would not be able to drive for a long time before stopping. He did not expect that Li Cheng knew many roads that were empty because of his work experience as a courier.

After leaving the city, their eyes suddenly widened. Just in half a month, the entire city of H had undergone earth-shaking changes. There were no rushing cars, noisy ads, no students or young staff handing out flyers, and no pedestrians hurrying or joking.

A silence, like a dead city. Only the sound of wind could be heard.

Li Cheng and the rich man Miao glanced at the window of the car for a while and looked back. The joy of still living gradually fades away, leaving only confusion and panic about the future.

With Li Cheng’s instruction, Shen Shian finally parked the car next to a gas station near the northern suburbs. This place deviated from the main road and took several turns around the road to get in. He didn’t know why the gas station was built here. But because of this, not only were there few cars, but even the zombies were scattered around.

Before getting out of the car, Shen Shian turned his head and looked at the two of them. “Do you have any plans to follow me?” Both of them were of good character. If they wanted to go to Beijing, they might be able to accompany him. Even with the space, it would still be troublesome.

After a brief silence, rich man Miao opened his mouth first. “Mr. Shen is going to Beijing to find your father, isn’t it? I have discussed with Li Cheng in private. The journey to Beijing will not be easy. We have limited abilities. This risk, even if we followed your every instruction, we can only drag you back. it’s better to go separate ways.”

Shen Shian nodded. “Then you are ready to go back to find your family.”

Rich man Miao smiled. “My father and mother passed away early. I had to suffer without my parents but now I could relax because I knew they were gone. I have worked hard for half of my life, and I have no plans to get married. Originally, I wanted to live life with happiness. I should eat when hungry, drink when thirsty, and gamble with all of my heart. Now that my business is gone, this lonely widow has nothing to worry about, and he is ready to go with his brother Li Cheng and talk about the future.”

Li Cheng explained. “My home is in a small township under the city of H. It’s not far from here. You can drive for two hours and walk for at least one day. There is good water, arable land, and grown rice over there. It could be exported every year. I think there were fewer rural people, so there should be fewer zombies. It is definitely more comfortable than in the city.”

This was indeed a good choice. He was glad that he had met them and he felt relieved when he learned that the two had a feasible plan.

After thinking about it, he said, “Wait a minute” then got out of the car and opened the trunk. He took out two mountaineering bags from the space, filled the bag with food, mineral water, and medicine left in the space. He finally stuff two bottles of tomato juice into each bag.

Li Cheng got out of the car and was shocked to see the scene. He quickly waved his hand. “You are going to Beijing. The future is uncertain. The place is far away, you also have a child and you give us all your supplies. What are you going to eat? No, no, absolutely not.”

Shen Shian said, “I still have a lot.” He paused and continued, “Brother Miao, there is a supermarket you opened outside the neighborhood where I live. I took a lot of things in the supermarket before I left home, so you don’t need to be polite with me, these are what you deserve.”

Rich man Miao then laughed, his eyes were red. “I always thought you were a smart man, I didn’t expect you to be a real fool. I have opened more than thirty supermarkets, and now is in the apocalypse. Can I still expect that the contents inside are still intact? Because of this reason you have to give me everything.”

Speaking at the end, he turned his back and wiped his eyes fiercely.

Shen Shian lightened his voice. “Brother Miao, Li Cheng, I’m not someone who considers the lives of other people heavier than myself. I’m not lying, I do have a lot of food, enough for me and Shen Xun. You have also seen my skills. Even after all the food is eaten, it will be impossible to not have any more food. Usually it would take one day to reach Li Cheng’s house. But now is the apocalypse. Take these things, be careful all the way, and live well.”

Rich man Miao raised his head and took a deep breath, then turned back. He carried his backpack on his body, stretched out a hand and held it with Shen Shian. “Thank you very much brother Shen. This is the second time you have given me something for my life. I will definitely remember it in the future. If the future is uncertain, and there is a chance to see you again, I will help you with anything without hesitation.”

Li Cheng also had red eyes. He stood straight and bowed deeply to Shen Shian. “Mr. Shen, thank you. I hope you will be safe all the way and you will arrive in Beijing as soon as possible to find your family.”

Shen Shian held Shen Xun and looked at the two. “Take care of yourself.”

They laughed at him, “Take care of yourself.”
