“Why are you so nervous?” The woman wondered what Wang Hao was thinking. She looked at the sweat on his forehead, hesitated for a second, and said, “I hope I won’t find that you have a copy of the pictures.”
This person must have gotten the wrong idea.
Wang Hao shrugged and said, “I really don’t. I have such a great personality. How can I lie to you?”
“I’m really sorry. I’ve seen too much cunning and lies.” The woman shook her head, then stopped talking.
Perhaps Wang Hao’s prayer worked, as the elevator didn’t break down this time…
They finally arrived. Wang Hao opened the door, went inside, put on his slippers, and said, “Come in. I won’t give you any slippers, or I’ll be embarrassed at how dirty you’ll find them.”
Snowy had already rushed out by then!
Its golden eyes lit up when it saw the woman!
Snowy ran toward the woman and hugged her leg. “Woof, woof!”
Wang Hao was speechless.
What the hell! Only a transmigrator could be so lascivious, right?!
He squeezed Snowy’s face and asked, “Tell me! Are you a transmigrator?! Nod if you are!”
Snowy barked, “Woof, woof!”
The woman smiled as she patted Snowy’s head. “Good boy. I came to get something. Next time, I’ll bring you something good to eat.”
Snowy wagged its tail in delight. “Aww!”
Wang Hao was completely speechless. In a world where dogs were more superior than humans, he might as well be dead…
“The computer is right here.” Wang Hao entered the bedroom.
“Oh.” The woman nodded and followed Wang Hao inside.
She looked around on her way to the bedroom. The house interior wasn’t anything extravagant. She could see that this was an ordinary family that did well enough for itself.
“This way.” Wang Hao brought her to his room. The room was decorated simply. It was clean, there were no unpleasant smells, and there were no dirty socks or boxers on the floor.
“I’ll let you check?” Wang Hao asked.
“Turn it on first.” The woman stared at Wang Hao’s computer expressionlessly.
“Okay.” Wang Hao turned on the computer, then asked, “Then what?”
“Open your Weibo, mail and web drive.” The woman obviously had everything planned out. “I’ll take the computer to someone for a thorough examination, and I’ll just give you a new one.”
“Huh? You’re invading my privacy, you know?” Wang Hao’s eyes popped out.
Not only the computer, she wants to check my Weibo, mail and web drive as well?!
“You’ve seen all of my pictures.” The woman blushed. “Why can’t I invade your privacy when you’ve invaded mine?”
That made sense. He couldn’t disagree!
“Fine,” Wang Hao said, feeling despondent. “I’ll let you look at them. There’s nothing shady anyway.”
He opened Weibo and let the woman read his latest posts. She indeed found nothing.
“Hm, okay, wait.” The woman took out her phone. She logged in to Weibo, searched for Wang Hao’s profile, and followed him. Wang Hao took a peek. The notification from Weibo said, “Icy Heart started following you.”
“Icy Heart?” Wang Hao hesitated, then followed her back.
“Okay, I’ll follow your Weibo. I hope I won’t find any posts of my pictures.” The woman continued, “Mail.”
The mailbox was empty.
Next was the web drive. There was nothing special inside except two documents, “Battle Through the Heavens” and the plot outline of “Swallowed Star” which Wang Hao had written.
“Novel titles?” Since there weren’t any pictures at all, the woman felt relieved. She asked, “You write novels?”
“Just for fun,” Wang Hao replied as he shrugged. “Is there anything else you want to check?”
“WeChat,” the woman said. “Let me scan your QR code. I’ll see if you’ve posted my pictures on your Moments.”
Alright, it was difficult to refuse. Wang Hao took out his phone and showed her the QR code. “Have a look.”
It was still Icy Heart who sent him a friend request. Wang Hao immediately accepted it. The woman had a glance at Wang Hao’s Moments, then said, “Hm, okay. All of these are fine. Turn it off, then move the CPU downstairs for me.”
F*ck! This is robbery, alright? You came to my house and you’re taking my CPU away?!
Wang Hao was frustrated, but he had no choice. He understood that the woman was simply worried that her personal pictures would leak. Wang Hao knew this sort of thing could have an enormous impact. Although those 3000 images weren’t sex pics, it would cause so much trouble if they leaked. So, Wang Hao unplugged the CPU without saying anything further. “Okay, let’s go.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll destroy the CPU, no matter what.” The woman walked behind Wang Hao. “So, I’ll directly give you a new computer. I should offer you a reasonable amount of compensation for saving my life.”
“That was something that I should do!” Wang Hao mumbled with a frustrated look, “I couldn’t just watch you die, could I?”
“Anyway…” The woman finally smiled. Her smile was like the sun in winter, and the whole world seemed to become warmer.
“Thank you.”
After they went downstairs, Wang Hao put the CPU in the Lamborghini and said, “Okay, there’s nothing else to worry about, right?”
“Hm, I’ll see after I go back.” The woman got into the car, fastened her seatbelt, then said, “I hope I’m right about you. You’ve given me quite a good impression so far. If there really aren’t any of my pictures in the computer, I’ll owe you a favor. Contact me via WeChat if you need anything.”
“Alright.” Wang Hao shrugged, then closed the door. “Be careful. Don’t drive too fast.”
“Okay, got it. See you.”
Watching the woman leave, Wang Hao sighed, then thought about everything that had happened today. It made him feel very dispirited.
“After a long day,” Wang Hao said in low spirits, “I returned the phone for just 100 yuan, then almost died due to a car accident and the ground collapsing, and even lost a computer in the end… How tragic…”
A computer cost at least 3000 yuan…
Yet, it was quite comforting to have connected with this mysterious woman on Weibo and WeChat.
Fine, I’ll put up with it! As long as I’m alright!
“By the way,” Wang Hao wondered, “who exactly is she? She’s just unbelievably awesome!”
