Hm? Why does this voice sound so familiar?
Wang Hao turned around and immediately gaped — f*ck, it’s Wayward Ren. What’s he doing here?
Wang Hao was shocked, but Director Gao was clearly even more shocked. He quickly got up and ran forward. “Hello, Master Ren!”
“I was just passing by, and thought I’d see how it’s going.” Wayward Ren shook hands with Director Gao, and then saw Wang Hao. What happened next made everyone’s jaws drop!
The 300kg Wayward Ren rushed up to Wang Hao and gave him a big hug. He shouted, “Hao! Hao! Please accept my respects! I really admire you!!!!”
He’s always been stand-offish with Director Gao, but now he ran over to greet Wang Hao. What’s going on?
Everybody froze, and Lu Tong couldn’t even stand straight!
What’s going on?
The legendary Wayward Ren is cozying up to a temporary gofer?!
It wasn’t just that. Wang Hao used all of his strength to push Wayward Ren away. “Calm down. Gentle, you beast, gentle…”
“Hao, why hasn’t anything good happened to me?” Wayward Ren said with an envious look, “Hao, you have such strong romantic luck! I’ll put the rest of my life’s happiness in your hands!”
“What the hell are you talking about? You, Wayward Ren, don’t have enough women?” Wang Hao laughed and said, “Let go. I’m in the middle of something serious!”
“Alright, I’ll let go.” Before he did, he pulled Wang Hao closer and asked with a shifty face, “Hao, where did you two go yesterday? Did something happen?”
“What can happen?” Wang Hao shrugged and responded, “We exchanged Wechat, Weibo, QQ and phone numbers —” Wang Hao held the cigarette between two fingers and blew a puff of smoke into the air. “Hm, women are so troublesome. I told her we could just use one of those, but she wanted all of them.”
That hit Wayward Ren hard.
“Hao! You’re my brother!” Wayward Ren looked dispirited. He then rushed up again and put his arm around Wang Hao’s shoulders. “Hao, let me be your lackey forever, alright?”
Everybody froze.
Director Gao murmured, “Ah, Master Ren. What’s going on with you two?”
“Ah, nothing, nothing. I’m just happy to see Hao here.” Wayward Ren immediately turned into lackey mode. “You were discussing something exciting. What was it about? The drama? Just carry on, don’t mind me!”
“Well… ah…” Director Gao was a bit confused. “Okay… okay…”
Wang Hao and Director Gao sat down, and Wayward Ren also moved a chair next to Wang Hao. So, Wang Hao continued, “Now that we’ve paved the way here, the next part will be the climax! Look, Director Gao. The lead actor enters and reconciles with the lead actress, then next is the bank robbery scene. What do we need here?”
Director Gao wondered, “What?”
“Hatred, of course!” Wang Hao smiled. “First, the people who are going to rob the jewelry shop are also eating in this restaurant. The lead actor notices that they’re acting weird, and that their bag looks so full. One of them even accidentally reveals the grip of a gun! The lead actor is an agent, right? He can’t just walk away, but he’s worried that overpowering them directly would cause casualties. So, he sends the actress away and secretly follows the robbers downstairs.
“As expected, the robbers go into a jewelry shop after going downstairs. The lead actor knows it’s not a good time to go in, so he stays low and watches them from the side. This is the beginning of the climax — the robbers begin to stir up hatred. A couple of people in the shop are shot. The security officer then arrives to see what’s going on. The lookout must now take somebody hostage, right? Since the lead actor is wandering around at that time, the lookout grabs him!”
The original scene in “From Beijing with Love” was a lot more complicated than the way Wang Hao was describing it, but many of the scenes in their drama couldn’t align perfectly with “From Beijing with Love.” Wang Hao could only use a rough outline of the story.
“Hm, this can work. Two of them will take the guns, and the other will be the lookout who takes a hostage.” Director Gao said excitedly, “What’s next?”
Wang Hao said, “It’s obviously not enough to just take the main character hostage. The robbers have to create more hatred — they take a little boy, too!
“With the hostages, they finish their job on high alert and are about to take the elevator to escape.
“When they get into the elevator, there’s nobody else inside. It’s time for the lead actor to show what he’s capable of! He picks the perfect moment to attack, which is when two of the robbers have entered the elevator and the remaining lookout happens to be blocking his partners. The lead actor kills the lookout and saves the little boy. Then, as the doors are closing, he throws his knives!”
Wang Hao had come to the most thrilling part. “First knife, second knife, third and fourth knife, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth knife. They all hit their target! By then, the elevator doors close!
“Here comes the penultimate part! After the lead actor throws the knives, he slowly puts on the sunglasses, his trenchcoat swings as he turns around, and he walks away dashingly! Leaving like the wind, and without a trace!
“The police then arrive and surround the elevator doors. When they open, everyone’s stunned by what they see inside!”
The scene ended here. Everyone was lost for words, awestruck expressions on their faces!
It’s gratifying enough just listening to the plot! Especially when the lead actor kills the robbers in the end. He defeats the enemies with glimmering knives. How cool is that?!
The scene Wang Hao had described was one of the classic shots from “From Beijing with Love.” The lead actress and the audience had always thought that the lead actor was just a listless loser. So, this sudden incident definitely made their eyes light up!
Director Gao’s eyes popped out. After Wang Hao finished the story, he shouted, “Okay! Let’s do it this way!”
Wayward Ren laughed loudly behind them. “Hao, I didn’t know you’re so talented! Impressive, impressive. Haha!”
He had thought that Director Gao was briefing Wang Hao, but now he knew that it was Wang Hao who was briefing Director Gao…
