Mo Bai’s initial seriousness disappeared when he met Su Yanxi’s clear eyes. He smiled, waved his hand and knocked on the table casually as he spoke with an exaggerated expression, “Oh! It’s nothing. I was just asking casually. Don’t take it seriously. Go back earlier after you’re done with what you’re doing. There are so many people here. You can just hand over the task of organizing the documents to them. Why do you need to do everything yourself? Why don’t you just fire all of them?”
“Okay, I got it.”
“Speaking of which…” Just as Su Yanxi finished her reply, Mo Bai frowned. He suddenly placed his hands on the table and leaned towards her slowly. He even deliberately smacked his lips.” Tsk tsk, it’s such a pity for your beautiful face to be beaten up like this. If I were there, I would definitely help you get even. Damn, I can’t even bear to touch a single strand of your hair, yet she slapped you so hard. ”
Upon hearing this, Su Yanxi rolled her eyes at him. She knew that he was being cheeky again, “Stop being sarcastic. Get out now.”
“Alright, I’ll be leaving then. Remember to go back earlier.” Mo Bai grinned, raised his eyebrows and left the office leisurely.
Staring at the glass door that was slowly closing, Su Yanxi slowly restrained the smile on her face. She tilted her head slightly and took out the document that she had casually stuffed into the drawer. She pulled out the paper from the bag, and a line of black words appeared in front of her eyes. She sighed silently.
Twilight fell and the evening glow gradually disappeared. The neon lights outside the floor-to-ceiling windows slowly lit up. Su Yanxi looked at the clock on the wall and pressed the intercom, “Yi Yao, come in.”
On the other end of the phone, Yi Yao said “okay” and hung up. Half a minute later, there was a knock on the office door. Yi Yao stuck her head in, “Ms. Su, are you looking for me?”
“Photocopy these documents and let’s get off work early today!” Su Yanxi gave her two looks as she gestured at the stack of documents by the table. As she spoke, she closed her laptop and got up to leave.
“Okay, I understand.” Upon hearing that she could get off work on time, Yi Yao happily picked up the stack of documents and her gaze landed on her pretty face. “Um… Ms. Su, does your face still hurt?”
“It’s fine now,” Su Yanxi replied with a faint smile. She picked up her bag and walked to her side, “I’ll leave first, okay.”
“Alright, Ms. Su. Drive slowly.”
On her way back, Su Yanxi bought some things from the supermarket. When she returned to the villa, it was almost 7:30 pm. She had just stopped the car when she realized that the lights in the villa were on. She was slightly stunned. She recalled that “someone” had brought a suitcase back in the morning and instantly calmed down. She pushed open the car door and walked over.
The electronic door opened with a ding. When she walked to the living room, Su Yanxi noticed the blazer on the back of the sofa and instinctively looked up. Before she could retract her gaze, she saw a man in a white shirt standing on the stairs, looking down at her.
Recalling what happened in the hospital in the afternoon, Su Yanxi frowned and asked calmly, “Aren’t you supposed to be on night shift today?”
“I changed my shift.” Lu Jingyan calmly pursed his lips. He stepped down and looked at the bag in her hand, “You went to buy groceries?”
Su Yanxi looked down at the bag in her hand, “Yes.” She paused for a moment before asking politely, “Have you eaten?”
“No.” Walking to the sofa in the living room, Lu Jingyan glanced at her from the corner of his eyes. His obtuse eyes made it hard to read his emotions as he slowly sat down. “Go! It’s getting late. It’s time to eat.”
