Chapter 541: Chapter 540: Supporting the Beloved Granddaughter at the Event_1
The welcome feast began, and the whole family happily enjoyed their meal. The children and grandchildren took turns toasting Duke of Zhen, who couldn’t close his mouth from joy.
However, the Old Master was sick and couldn’t drink alcohol. He was unhappy to see the Duke of Zhen enjoying himself so much without any regard for his father’s feelings.
Unhappy, the old man struck the floor with his cane, wishing he could poke it directly into Duke of Zhen’s nose.
Duke of Zhen finally realized his mistake and his old face turned red.
“Grandfather, let Qingluo offer you some tea. This tea is mixed with honey, it’s good for the liver and lungs and is perfect for you to drink,” Lin Qingluo said with a smile, holding the teacup in front of the two elders and sweetly addressing her grandfather.
The Old Master’s anger was extinguished like a summer shower as he took the teacup with his thin, withered hands and slowly sipped the tea.
The excellent flavor made it feel like it was aged for a hundred years.
The taste made Duke of Zhen’s stomach sour and the fine alcohol in his hands suddenly lost its appeal.
“Qingluo, prepare a cup of honey tea for your grandfather too, to sober him up,” he said.
“Of course, grandfather, there’s more in the teapot,” Lin Qingluo replied, still smiling as she poured a cup for Duke of Zhen.
“What a delicious tea!” Duke of Zhen drained the cup with a satisfied smack of his lips.
“Qingluo, pour a cup for your grandmother too,” suggested the Duchess of Zhen, holding out her teacup with a bright smile.
Lin Qingluo obediently smiled and poured a cup for her grandmother as well.
“Oh my! Our Qingluo is truly talented and considerate. This honey tea is just as delicious as the hundred taels per pound precious rose tea from Western Region Tianzhu,” the Duchess said after taking a sip, enjoying the lingering fragrance on her lips and feeling refreshed as she lavishly praised Qingluo.
Lin Qingluo smiled warmly, “Grandmother, I have prepared tea bags. I’ll ask Qinghe to deliver them to you in the afternoon.”
“Oh, great!” the Duchess was overjoyed, hugging her precious granddaughter close and not wanting to let go.

As the three elders drank the honey tea served by their favorite granddaughter, they enjoyed the welcome feast to their heart’s content.
Once the feast was over, Duke of Zhen continued to focus on the martial arts competition between his grandchildren, eager to personally oversee the competition and support his beloved granddaughter.
If any wretched child dared to hurt his precious granddaughter during the competition, they would face the wrath of the family.
Old Master had the same idea and, despite his weakness, insisted on going to the Martial Arts Arena to watch the competition.
Duke of Zhen didn’t dare to defy his father’s wishes, so he ordered his servants to hang lanterns around the arena and set up tables and chairs.
He invited the masters of each courtyard to join them at the competition venue to enjoy the children’s spectacular performances.
With Duke of Zhen’s instruction, the servants worked efficiently.
In less than half a Shichen, they hung lanterns all around the arena, making it brightly lit, and set up a tent with tables and chairs in the best viewing spot for their masters to wait.
The Lin Clan children weren’t cowards.
Although Lin Jinyun, Lin Jinlong, Lin Jinyang, and Lin Jinpeng, the four brothers, admitted that they were no match for their little sister,
Not a single one of them showed cowardice in the face of the upcoming competition.
The four brothers arrived at the Martial Arts Arena first, each holding their favorite weapon, practicing, and warming up their muscles.
After performing a set of smooth, flowing sword moves, Lin Jinyun felt invigorated and confident.
Wiping off the sweat from his forehead, he smiled and asked his three brothers, “Jinlong, Jinyang, Jinpeng, who wants to go first?”
