…
It was almost noon by the time Song Wenxin and her classmates arrived at the DL headquarters with their lecturer.
After a short wait in the reception area, a bespectacled woman turned up and led them into the head office.
Along the way, the woman gave Song Wenxin’s group a detailed account of DL’s history of development and growth, guiding them through a variety of products created by DL’s internal team of designers.
Song Wenxin was mesmerized by the varied range of creative designs.
Suddenly, the female DL employee extended her hand and pointed toward Song Wenxin, saying, “By the way, this student is wearing the latest design from DL’s winter collection. The entire outfit, including the accessories, was created by our brand’s very own designers!”
At her words, everyone’s attention was then diverted, and they all looked at Song Wenxin’s outfit.
Lowering her eyes to look at her clothes, Song Wenxin was stunned.
Her clothes had been prepared by the help in Jiang Beihan’s house. In her hurry to get out of the house, she had simply put the clothes on without taking the time to examine them in detail.
“Ha, but these are just knockoffs!” scoffed Ding Ruqian, looking down her nose at Song Wenxin.
“Knockoffs?” asked the female employee, surprised by Ding Ruqian’s comment. Then, shaking her head vehemently, she insisted, “That is impossible. These are definitely DL’s clothes!”
Her adamant assertion surprised Ding Ruqian, cutting off anything she had intended to say.
Unhappy at not being given the chance to have the last word, Ding Ruqian glared angrily at Song Wenxin and said nothing, annoyance written all over her face.
Song Wenxin felt wronged and victimized. She had done absolutely nothing, but some people were just hellbent on looking for trouble for themselves.
Not wishing to look again at Ding Ruqian, she turned her attention to the clothes displayed in DL’s exhibition cabinets.
DL’s designers were all globally renowned, and they designed clothes that were unique. Song Wenxin took the opportunity to learn as much as she could while scrutinizing the clothes in the exhibition cabinets.
“Oh right, today’s your lucky day. Our boss, who heads up the JS Group, will be here at our head office. So you might just get a chance to meet him!” the female employee announced, changing the subject suddenly with a big smile on her face.
Her announcement caused a stir amongst the visitors as they expressed their keenness to meet this Jiang Beihan, the so-called legend of the business world.
Well, everyone except a surprised Song Wenxin, who had been lagging behind the group in silence.
So, Jiang Beihan, her husband in name only, was coming here?
Barely a few minutes after the female employee’s announcement, they noticed, along the corridor, a group of people striding determinedly toward them.
With Jiang Beihan taking the lead.
Looking expressionless, he walked in their direction, taking big strides with his long legs.
When he noticed Song Wenxin’s group, he slowed down and eventually stopped beside Song Wenxin, looking down at her.
However, Song Wenxin stepped backward on reflex and turned her head away, pretending not to know him!
“Hmm…” He gave a terse laugh.
Very well. So she had decided to be a stranger and pretend not to know him! Was being acquainted with him something to be ashamed of?
“Boss!” greeted the female employee swiftly, her head lowered.
In an instant, all the girls in the group were caught in a frenzy!
“Is that Jiang Beihan? Oh, he’s so cute!” exclaimed someone in a low voice.
Song Wenxin followed suit and raised her head to look in the same direction.
Jiang Beihan was dressed in an immaculate business suit, which accentuated his excellent physique!
Whether it was just his face or the entire package of him, Jiang Beihan was indeed a strikingly handsome guy.
What a pity it was that he preferred men.
Song Wenxin wanted very much to reveal this regrettable information to the girls, but she had held back, knowing that she would have to face the most severe punishment if she ever dared to divulge Jiang Beihan’s secret…
“Who are these people?”
