Chapter 12 Louis (1)
Liu Yu checked out a room at the hotel near the Fergus house for Gaia under her family’s name.
“Gaia, I will be leaving for now.” She cupped Gaia’s beautiful face and pecked his forehead naturally, “May the God of Light bless you and keep you safe.”
The rose scent from Bellia’s body gradually filled the room.
The young man’s eyes were bound by a piece of white lacy ribbons as he sat quietly at the table. Outside the window, there was a view of the garden that was planted with beautiful and vibrant purple lilacs. Liu Yu couldn’t help but glance back at the young man once more before she left.
She had suddenly felt that it would be cruel to leave this young man all alone when he didn’t have any memories of his past. However, she soon chided herself for being ridiculous.
The young man was the reincarnation of the God of Light. He created this world and he can destroy the world just as easily.
“Miss Bellia.”
The coachman quickly drove the carriage over and greeted her politely.
Liu Yu jumped into the carriage easily.
“Take me back to the Fergus house.”
It was already late into the night. The street was empty and quiet since everyone had probably fallen asleep by now. Only the roadside streetlights guided the coachman through the dark roads.
The Fergus house was located at the end of Danpu Avenue, located east of the city. It was a modest three-story building completed with creamy white walls and spires. There was a colorful garden in front of the house; however, no one knew what type of flowers were planted in the garden.
The coachman drove the carriage to the stables after Liu Yu got off the carriage. Liu Yu hiked up her skirt as she shuttled through the beautiful garden.
She strolled along the small path in the garden.
She had been tensed all day. Liu Yu enjoyed the cool night breeze as it gradually calmed her nerves down. She had stopped strolling through the garden when she found a bench to sit down. The tall bushes behind her concealed her shadows, so it would be harder for people to discover her.
Liu Yue didn’t want to enter the house for the time being. She didn’t want to face a house full of strangers yet. but soon, she will have to face the reality of things and call a stranger her mother. She will also have to deal with unfamiliar stepsister and servants.
She stared at the sky blankly for a while.
Compared to the smog-filled northern capital that she came from, the sky of the Elwynn continent was extraordinarily clean. The night sky looked like a beautiful sparkling sapphire. The sapphire-like sky was dotted with sparkling diamond-like stares and a silver crescent moon.
“It’s not a full moon yet.”
But it didn’t matter whether it was a full moon or a crescent moon.
She had no home.
In her previous life, she was adopted at the age of three. After that, she was abandoned again at the age of ten and returned to the orphanage.
When she was abandoned once again, she sobbed as she asked the dean of the orphanage.
“…If there is a God in this world, then why doesn’t God ever grant or listen to my prayers? Why have both my biological and adoptive parents abandoned me? I’ve always been well-behaved and did everything as they asked.”
The dean of the orphanage told her, “God is too busy, so he cannot take care of everyone. Perhaps it will take a very long time before your prayers will be heard by God.”
After the explanation from the dean of the orphanage, Liu Yu stopped praying and waiting for a miracle to happen.
She will no longer pin hope and desire on other people, instead, she will only rely on herself.
If she wants something, then she will fight for it herself.
The grasshoppers made clicking sounds under the bushes, and one of the grasshoppers was brave enough to jump on the empty spot on the bench next to her. Its black eyes “looked” at her before it quickly hopped away.
Liu Yu slowly smoothed out the wrinkles in her skirt before she stood up again.
She walked along the small path that led to the terrace. The house was brightly lit even though it was already very late at night. The colorful stained glasses glowed in multitudes of different colors under the brightly lit house.
The door to the first floor was wide open, yet there was no one inside.
The fireplace was crackling with flames. As soon as she entered the door, she was instantly surrounded by a gentle but warm heat. On the table, there was a plate of half-eaten biscuits and bread.
Liu Yu’s stomach grumbled in protest.
After she calmed down her anxious nerves, she realized that she was starving. She picked up the French breadstick from the plate and took a small bite. The breadstick almost broke her tooth! The food was spoiled; it was no longer edible.
