Chapter 28: Who am I Sharing the Room with?
I didn’t know what kind of rhetoric my dad used, for A and B were convinced to join us too.
The four of us…oh I was sorry, I meant the five of us had a chat group, in which Ms. XXXX was sighing and predicting that the trip would be a nightmare in her life.
To be honest, I also had a weird foreboding.
In addition, when my grandma learned that I was going to Japan with my dad, she looked at me with a desperate look. Then she called my aunt.
By the time I went out in the morning, she hadn’t spoken to me.
I was worried, so I told my dad about it.
My dad said, “Don’t fret. She’ll figure it out.”
I asked: “what will she figure out? It’s impossible that she can figure it out!”
Hearing that, my dad turned to look at me. Then he sighed and said, “She can make it. When she realizes that she has no choice but accept something, she will figure it out. That is as if she had accepted the fact that your grandpa has gone.”
I: ???
Why did I think what he said was not the same thing with what I told him? I meant that the thinking of my grandma, coupled with that of my aunt, would be a mess. Due to it, it was quite difficult for her to figure out. It would be a happy ending if she stopped worrying about it.
Well, what did he mean?
As you knew, I was sensitive.
So after thinking about it carefully, I thought that there were still other reasons why my dad had troubles with my grandma.
—————————————————————————————–
Now we had arrived in Japan.
Then I found a problem that I gotta share a room with my dad.
Don’t question me please. It had never occurred to me until now. I didn’t know why I had never thought about it before. Or maybe I just had never thought about it, and the situation just took a turn for breathtaking now that I was faced with it.
When we were on the way getting the room cards, I felt a bit afraid.
Looking around, I found that only Ms. XXXX could talk with me.
So I stepped back and walked with her. Then I whispered: “Do you think if it will be strange for me to ask for an extra room now?”
Ms. XXXX immediately looked at me with a weird look and said, “Are you afraid now? Or are you trying to play hard-to-get?”
I touched my nose and had nothing to answer. Alright, forget it!
Ms. XXXX patted my back thoughtfully and encouraged me: “XX, don’t be a coward. The Fireworks Show is a good chance for you. Come on!”
I: …
Many places in Japan would hold the Fireworks Show during the summer vacation. And according to our itinerary, we could attend two shows this time. Only when I got on the plane did I know that one of the reasons A and B finally decided to come to Japan was to watch fireworks.
To be exact, it was A who was intrigued.
Sometimes, I thought A was like a young girl. Be it his character, his appearance or his hobby, he was a cute “girl” who lived in a pink bubble.
When A was on the plane, he made it clear what he was going to do on the Fireworks Show.
For example, the style of the outfits and the accessories he would wear, and at which point he would kiss his husband, and so on. He was really careful about everything no matter how big or trivial it was.
He was indeed a funny fellow.
At that time, I was sitting side by side with A and B. And A enthusiastically gave me advice.
—What else advice would he give me? Of course I was suggested to seduce my dad.
You see, everyone who was close to us could find that the relationship between me and my dad was abnormal.
But obviously, there was nothing actually happening!
This made me aggrieved.
Anyway, I still shared a room with my father.
The room was clean and tidy, with good functions. But it was not too big.
When I was packing my luggage, I tried to be calm and not expose my tension.
Fortunately, my dad was really busy. Not long after he entered the room, he received a call, which lasted for twenty minutes. So I helped him unpack his luggage and took his clothes out.
During this period, Ms. XXXX came once and told us that A and B were going out and asked us if we were going with them.
My dad didn’t answer her.
Then Ms. XXXX asked me, “Are you going?”
I said: “Can they wait for a minute?”
Ms. XXXX said, “Do you think that A could do that?”
Alright.
I looked back at my dad and thought that he would be lonely if I left with them and asked my dad to come later on.
So I said, “You can go first. We’ll call you when we are ready.”
Ms. XXXX came to me and whispered, “There is a shrine in the hill behind the hotel, which is less beaten. It is popular among the locals. I have heard that most people will go there to toss divination chips for a happy marriage. Later on, you don’t need to join us. Just go there for a walk.”
I: …
Ms. XXXX patted me kindly on the shoulder: “That’s all I can do to help you.” I didn’t answer her.
But when my dad finished his call and asked me where they had gone, I told my dad truthfully. But after that, I actually advised: “XXXX said there was a small shrine behind the hotel. Would you like to visit it?”
My father, casually put on his watch and said, “Sure!”
Why would I suddenly think that he was so cool when he was wearing his watch?
Holy shit!
I didn’t think I came here for any purpose.
But now, it was as if I had it all laid out.
Wait wait! What? What did I want?
I had done nothing!
