Looking at the red mark on the back of his hand, it was like a storm started to brew in Mo Ye’s dark eyes. Nobody has ever been bold enough to raise their hands at him. If something like this had happened in the past, the little monk’s head would have already been separated from his shoulders by now, but right now, his interest was piqued by what this monk had to say further.
This little monk seemed young, but everything he said so far was on point. He indeed wanted to know what else did the little monk have to say?
“In life, success comes only after going through trials and tribulations. You were blessed by the Emperor Star at birth, those who called you a cursed child are only making groundless claims. I can tell, you will not die young. Indeed, when you turn thirty, you will go through heavenly tribulations, but it can be resolved.”
Mo Ye’s gaze shifted after listening to the little monk’s words. He stared at the little monk before him, as if pondering about something.
The two guards standing behind Mo Ye had a flash of surprise and joy in their eyes after they heard Tang Ning’s words. They looked at each other and asked anxiously as they hurriedly stepped forward, “Is this real? How can you resolve it?”
Tang Ning glanced at the two guards coldly, before fleetingly shifting her gaze away. She was someone who held grudges, and these two guards had wanted to kill her just now!
Mo Ye raised his brows after looking at the little monk’s complexion.
This little monk may seem ignorant and harmless on the surface, but after interacting with him, anyone can find that he is as sly as a fox, but has an innocent facade. This 13-year-old little monk had many quirky ideas in his head, and he was even able to pinpoint his fate correctly.
The fate of a destined loner, a cursed child, and an inability to live beyond the age of thirty, all of this was said by the esteemed monk from the Imperial Monastery himself, so outsiders would not be able to know about it. However, the words spoken by this little monk were so similar yet somehow also different from what he heard from the esteemed monk. Mo Ye couldn’t help but suspect the credibility of his words. How much of the little monk’s words could he trust?
“Benefactor, can you conceal your aura?” Tang Ning smiled and asked him. At this moment, Tang Ning was back to showing her innocent and harmless self, pure and kind.
Mo Ye concealed his aura and stared at the little monk. His deep voice was filled with suspicion as he asked, “Are you really a monk?”
Mo Ye noticed the manner and behavior of this little monk did not resemble that of a temple disciple. Furthermore, this little monk would only refer to him as a “benefactor” when he remembered to.
Listening to his question, Tang Ning was stunned for a moment. Then, she gave a wide smile and touched her little bald head. She squinted her eyes and replied, “I have an affinity with Buddha, even though I did not become a disciple since I was young.”
Mo Ye did not suspect her words. After all, this little monk did not look like someone who became a monk at a young age, would obey all rules of Buddhism, and be a conservative monk.
Perhaps this little monk’s words had pleased Mo Ye. He looked at the little monk profoundly, with his hands behind his back, and ordered, “Black Wind, reward him!”
One of the guards behind Mo Ye came forward and looked at the little monk, before untying a small pouch from his waist.
“Fill his bowl with gold coins.” Mo Ye said calmly.
“Yes.” Black Wind was stunned for a moment, and then he grabbed a handful of gold coins from the small pouch and placed them into the little monk’s bowl.
The crisp sound made by the gold coins when poured into the bowl brightened the eyes of the people surrounding them. Some were looking enviously, while others had a greedy or scheming look. But without fail, all of them were staring at the little monk’s bowl.
Tang Ning’s gaze shifted, and she glanced at the man before her, who looked like he was amused and enjoying a performance. Then, her gaze landed on the tiny pouch in the hands of the guard named Black Wind.
Could it be that this pouch was the legendary Cosmic Bag?
