After sending Jiang Anzhi off, Feng Lanchu’s free time had also come to an end. She had to return to school to work.
She worked in Huaixiang’s wildlife research center and mainly worked in nature reserves observing and protecting wildlife animals. On the farthest trip she had made, she had led a team to Africa to observe wild elephants. During the three years that she had spent in Africa, her parents, who worked in state agencies, were worried out of their minds for her. They were worried that she might marry a tribal chief or be eaten by lions or tigers. They had tried all kinds of ways to get her to return.
Feng Lanchu had no choice but to return on her parents’ orders. After she returned, she took up a post as an assistant professor in Huaixiang University’s School of Biology, researching wildlife animals.
This was a rather easy job.
Even though many students studied biology, there weren’t many who chose to research wildlife animals.
After all, one was able to predict what kind of future those researching wildlife had. They became park rangers at nature reserves and spent all their time with animals. Other than observing the excretion and footprints of these animals, they had to face harsh environmental conditions in the wild and had to deal with poachers. Otherwise, they hung out around labs every day, analyzing the excretion, corpses, and samples of various animals. They had to write endless papers and research on never-ending topics.
In today’s society, many other professions were much easier and more lucrative. These students were not stupid. Unless they were truly interested in the profession and were willing to devote their lives to nature, they would not study it.
Obviously, there were not many who had such devotion. As such, as the school’s assistant professor, she often spent her time in the office being bored out of her mind.
She had five master’s students this time. This was the first time she had so many students in her three years teaching here.
Usually, when she went to work, Jiang Che would be handed off to Mrs. Jiang. Feng Lanchu’s mother-in-law was avant-garde and was a detail-minded woman. She was naturally great at educating children. Jiang Anzhi was the best example of that.
When Feng Lanchu drove off to work, Angling was helping his grandmother water the vegetables in the backyard. He did not care about Feng Lanchu at all. Feng Lanchu was speechless at that. Was Angling Jiang her biological son? Why was he so heartless? Hah!
The school of biology was at the corner of Huaixiang University. The unpopular wildlife research center and a flowering plant research center were set up on the building’s uppermost floor.
The flowering plant research lab took up two-thirds of the uppermost floor. There was a large glass canopy that let in great lighting. The canopy was filled with various flowering plants. The teachers and students had placed these plants in an orderly manner. The verdant plants and the brightly blooming flowers made the place look like something out of a fairy tale.
The wildlife research laboratory only occupied one-third of the top floor. There were rows of shelves inside filled with the feces, hairs, and specimens of various animals collected by students.
Compared to the lab next door, it could be said that the difference was like that between heaven and hell.
The students from the school of biology often called these two places the garden and the morgue, respectively, in jest.
However, there was also a visual contrast between these two places that tickled them.
Those who were able to get into the school of biology were all straight-A students. These students were usually immersed in research and rarely cleaned themselves up. As such, the students who hung around the garden were usually a group of students who have not washed their hair in N years, wore thick glasses, and had oily faces. Meanwhile, in the morgue next door, was the goddess of the school of biology, Feng Lanchu.
Feng Lanchu had a face that would do well even in the entertainment industry, much less amongst a group of straight-A students. She has naturally crowned the goddess of the department the moment she arrived.
When she first arrived at school, the students and teachers of the school of biology all talked about her. Many people were interested in her, and they wrote her letters to confess their love for her. It was a pity that Feng Lanchu’s belly started to grow shortly after. Then, the adorable Jiang Che was born.
Many students, who had fallen in love for the first time, all backed away dejectedly.
However, after three years, the school of biology showed signs of stirring again. This was because Feng Lanchu’s husband had never shown up before, so there were all sorts of rumors floating around. Some people said that she had a child out of wedlock and had told others that she was married to cover up that fact. Others said that her husband was a wealthy playboy and that the two were only married in name and lived separate lives. Others said that she was a kept woman and that her relationship with the man had to be kept under wraps.
No matter what the rumor was, there was one key piece of information in all of them. Even though Feng Lanchu had a child, she was actually single.
To straight-A students, dating was a waste of time, and finding someone in the same field was difficult. An outstanding and beautiful woman like Feng Lanchu was a catch, and it would be stupid of them not to ask her out.
Among all the men interested in Feng Lanchu, Professor Wang Bingbing of the garden was the most enthusiastic. After all, his lab was the closest to hers, so he had an advantage over the rest.
