Chapter 31: Big Dumb Man
Is this really third brother? Liu Duo stared at his battered face, almost unable to recognize him.
“Since Xiao Duo wishes it, I’ll stop. He certainly is thick skinned, that hurt my hands,” Ye Liu said as he stepped to her side.
He then raised his slender and well proportioned hands for her to see.
‘What about them?” Liu Duo asked quizzically.
“Xiao Duo, my hands are beaten and tired now. It was for you, so they’re in your care,” he said with a face full of grievance.
“Uh…” Liu Duo was unsure of how to react to his games.
Ye Ling wanted to point out that Ye Mo, not Ye Liu, was the injured one here.
Though she knew he was full of it, trying to use words to convince this miscreant would only lead to a bad end. So, Liu Duo pulled his hand to her and began rubbing.
“Oh yes, that feels good. Keep rubbing it, just like that,” Ye Liu said with a face full of obvious enjoyment.
“I’m hungry,” Liu Duo said, throwing his hands to the side.
Ye Ling rushed back to the kitchen to cook upon hearing she was hungry; he didn’t care whether it was an excuse or not.
Ye Liu said in resignation: “Alright, let’s get cooking so Xiao Duo can gorge herself!”
What am I, a pig!? You’re the pig! Liu Duo thought with puffed cheeks.
And Just like that, the depressing air was gone, and Ye Mo lay in a daze while the others left for the kitchen.

After the cooking was finished, they saved Ye Mo a portion, but neither called him in.
“Aren’t you going to have him come eat?” Liu Duo couldn’t help but ask.
“Is he a venerable elder or wealthy young master we must serve? He can take care of himself.” Ye Liu couldn’t care less.
Seeing them take this so far, she decided not to drag it out.
Third brother has quite a sharp tongue! she thought.
She went back to their room and saw Ye Mo lying on the bed, motionless.
Seeing his face wiped clean and his clothes changed, Liu Duo was content. Though he had an impulsive temper she didn’t like, he also had a thing for cleanliness that she did.
“Here, let’s have dinner.” Liu Duo held him up and stretched out his hand.
He turned and looked at her without saying a thing. It was unknown what he was thinking.
“What’re you staring for? I told you to eat, big dumb man!”
Were he not one of her husbands, she wouldn’t bother about him. He deserved to starve!
Seeing her expression, he thought she was kinda cute, but wouldn’t be caught dead saying it.
Liu Duo kept on without a pause: “Fine, starve then!” She then marched her way out.
Watching her leave, Ye Mo fell into deep thought. Liu Duo’s grandmother had heard these brothers sought an infantile bride. She took the initiative to find them and offered her grand daughter, Liu Duo, for 22 silver. Afterward, all ties with her family would be severed.
22 silver was more than Ye Mo could stand to pay, but San Bo persisted, assuring they would be better off with no trouble coming from her family.
