Chapter 106 He’s My Wife
After dinner, Cen Muqi sent Feng Yan back to her room. Ji Naitang and Tan Huanya were in the living room. Tan Huanya suddenly sneered and said, “I didn’t expect that you’re so powerful. In a short period of time, you’ve climbed up from a mistress to a lover. Ji Naitang, if your dad knows how much of a disgrace you are to the Ji family, I’m afraid he won’t be able to rest in peace.”
Ji Naitang smiled sincerely. “Why do you people like talking about each others’ dads so much? That might be a warning to other people, but it’s an encouragement to me.”
Tan Huanya frowned. Her eyes were somewhat ferocious. Ji Naitang saw that she didn’t believe him and kindly explained, “It’s true. You might not know this, but I actually don’t like my dad at all. So if he can’t rest in peace, I don’t know how happy I would be.”
“With a son like you, your dad really……”
“Enough. You don’t have to keep talking about my dad. If you really like my dad, why don’t you go down and keep him company?”
“Ji Naitang!”
“You don’t like what I said? Tan Huanya, I actually really hate you. But taking into account that Cen Muqi treats you as a sister, I’m going to give you some advice. Don’t mess with Ji Weilou. You can’t win against him.”
“You followed me?”
“I really don’t have that much free time to follow you. I accidentally saw it. But he’s an old fox. If you’re sold, don’t help him count the money. If you’re really that stupid, then no one can help you.”
“Mind your own business.”
Ji Naitang heard the door opening upstairs and stood up lazily. He didn’t care about Tan Huanya’s attitude. He shook his head and didn’t say anything else.
Besides, he gave her advice already. If Tan Huanya insisted on trusting Ji Weilou, he wasn’t interested in interfering. She wasn’t a child. She was an adult with her own judgment.
“Let’s go back,” Cen Muqi said to Ji Naitang after he walked down the stairs. Ji Naitang smiled and walked over. They started to leave. Tan Huanya couldn’t help but say, “Qi ge, you just came back, but you’re leaving already?”
Cen Muqi stopped. “I have to work tomorrow. It’s too far from the company here. It’s inconvenient.”
“When will you come again?”
“That’s not easy to say. It depends. Is something wrong?”
“I can’t talk to you if nothing’s wrong? You weren’t like this to me before. Why did you change?”
“HuanHuan, I’m not the one who changed. You’re the one who changed. Think about what you used to be like. And remember the lesson from last time. Don’t do something illegal. The Cen family has money, but a lot of things can’t be settled with just money. Do you understand?”
Tan Huanya wanted to go over to hug Cen Muqi, but she hadn’t even approached him yet when Ji Naitang stepped over between them and blocked her.
“Get out of the way!”
Ji Naitang had no expression on his face. “Why?”
“This is between me and Qi ge. It’s not up to an outsider like you to interfere.”
Cen Muqi said coolly behind Ji Naitang, “He’s my wife.”
Tan Huanya’s expression turned even uglier. She asked bluntly, “Qi ge, you won’t like me, right?”
Cen Muqi sighed somewhat helplessly. “I told you many times already. I treat you like a sister. So, even if I like you, it’s in a familial way. You haven’t interacted with a lot of people. When you meet someone you really like who likes you back, you’ll understand that feelings are not one-sided. You’ll be happy only if both sides like each other.”
Ji Naitang truly believed that Cen Muqi treated Tan Huanya like a sister now because Cen Muqi’s tone was very sincere and earnest, like that of an elder speaking to a junior.
