Chapter 99 Heartfelt Confession
Ji Naitang rubbed his eyes. He felt that he shouldn’t cry while looking at his phone here. He read the messages over and over again. He still found it hard to believe.
Yao Yuanjing was still reminding him not to forget to contact CEO Zhao. Ji Naitang just directly called him. Yao Yuanjing picked up and asked, “Why are you calling me? I’m in a meeting.”
Uh, why was everyone having a meeting at this time? And the stranger thing was that the two CEOs were both on WeChat while they were in meetings?
“There’s something I want to ask you.”
“Go ahead. What is it?”
“Cen Muqi – He seemed to have confessed to me. What should I do?”
The other end of the phone was silent for a while. Then he replied, “Isn’t it a good thing that he confessed to you? What do you mean what should you do? Accept him, of course. Wait. Is he next to you right now?”
“He’s in a meeting. He messaged me on WeChat.”
“A meeting? He’s in a meeting and he has the free time to confess to you on WeChat? His account’s not hacked right?”
Ji Naitang froze. He said numbly, “You – Aren’t you in a meeting too? You just messaged me on WeChat too.”
“I use WeChat to talk about work with you. Besides, who confesses while he’s in a meeting?”
Ji Naitang suddenly realized that Yao Yuanjing seemed to make a lot of sense. His earlier excitement slowly cooled down. He couldn’t help but think what he would do it the account was really hacked.
Cen Muqi didn’t confess to him because his account was hacked? So, all that earlier sweetness was fake?
“Don’t worry about it. When the meeting’s over, just go ask him face-to-face.”
Ji Naitang answered yes and hung up the phone. But he suddenly felt that every second going by was like a year. He tried hard to endure it, but he finally couldn’t endure it anymore. He left the small office and went towards the conference room.
Ji Naitang didn’t think about it and opened the door of the conference room. He then discovered that other than Cen Muqi, there were two members from the board of directors and a dozen department managers and such there.
The manager of the marketing department was talking about the feedback of some project on the projector, but he stopped talking because of Ji Naitang’s entry.
More than a dozen pairs of eyes looked at him. Ji Naitang couldn’t help but take a step back. He had an impulse to run away. How could he have charged into the conference room? This was crazy!
Cen Muqi was sitting directly in the middle. He asked, “Do you need something, Special Assistant Ji?”
Ji Naitang nodded and then shook his head. Cen Muqi looked steadily at him. Ji Naitang gritted his teeth and asked, “CEO Cen, did your WeChat account get hacked?”
Everyone in the conference room: ? ? ?
A small smile was on Cen Muqi’s mouth. “Why are you asking that all of a sudden?”
“Someone used your WeChat account to message something weird to me, so I thought……”
“Some weird words?” Cen Muqi held his phone with one hand and propped his chin up with the other hand. “Special Assistant Ji, my heartfelt confession is just some weird words to you?”
Ji Naitang’s breathing stifled. The people in the conference room wanted to explode. What did their CEO Cen say? Confession? Con – fe – ssion?
“I…… I’m not, I thought……” Ji Naitang was a little panicked. He didn’t know what to say. Compared to him, Cen Muqi was very calm and asked, “Then about the application – Do you approve it or do you reject it?”
Ji Naitang couldn’t help but cough a few times. Under everyone’s inquisitive gazes, he lowered his head and typed something into his phone. The phone in Cen Muqi’s hand vibrated. Cen Muqi looked down and opened his WeChat. It was from Ji Naitang.
Ji Naitang: Yes.
