Chapter 374 – Li Wanjin father and son were the true culprits behind her death. (2)
He felt naked under the bright sun as if all of his clothes had been ripped off. That very moment, any remaining hope in him was gone.
Fang JunRong asked him, “Had Jiang YaGe’s bracelet not lost its ability and you being still a loving couple, would you still have regretted your action?
“Would you look back on what you have done and realize your mistakes?”
Her words hammered him over his head repeatedly. He felt dizzy and was not able to say a word.
He could not righteously say that he would regret what he had done.
He remembered clearly that he was only sad for a couple of days after learning about his mother’s death.
He and Jiang YaGe continued their days together. He felt somewhat relieved, in fact, that he no longer needed to worry about his mother’s effect on their relationship.
He didn’t even attend his mother’s funeral; he merely sent the butler in his place as Jiang YaGe had a headache that day and he stayed to take care of her. He didn’t even participate in his mother’s touqi.*
Wang SiXian, Jiang YaGe’s aunt, also moved in with them not too long after. He never voiced any objection because of his loving wife.
He was finally seeing things clearly. The one most deserving of punishment was him, not Jiang YaGe. He was her son. But he had hurt her and watched her due over another woman.
He smiled pitifully and said, “I am sorry.”
Fang JunRong didn’t say anything. The past was behind her but it didn’t mean it didn’t happen. She was not able to say that she would forgive him.
The light in Li ShiZe’s eyes dimmed and he left like his soul had left his body.
Looking at his back, Fang JunRong had a feeling that this would be the last time she’d see him.
As for what was going to happen to him after this point, she didn’t care nor did she want to know.
She shook her head. She hadn’t expected that Li ShiZe would take revenge on Jiang YaGe in such a way.
Looking away, she walked back over to Jiang DeXian. “Let’s go eat.”
Jiang DeXian looked at her, then at Li ShiZe, who was walking away.
Fang JunRong said to him, “You don’t need to target him anymore. He’s dead to us.”
Jiang DeXian retained his innocent look. “I didn’t do anything.”
Jfr’s lips tightened a little. His thoughts were written all over his face. She got it now. Jiang DeXian was never as innocent as he looked.
Li ShiZe’s appearance was just a minor incident as far as Fang JunRong was concerned. She didn’t think much of it nor did she tell it to XinYun. Li ShiZe didn’t reach out to XinYun again either, probably too ashamed to do so.
That was the best. If he were to show up in front of XinYun and tell her some random things, Fang JunRong would most likely lose control of herself.
Her days moved forward like normal afterward.
April 28 was the day that Jiang DeXian’s Qixing was officially going to go IPO.
Normally speaking, the price of a company’s shares will be lower when it first goes IPO. Qixing, as the unicorn in the IT industry, had attracted a lot of attention. Anyone with half a brain could tell the trend that it was going. Many had their money readied and expressed that they would purchase some of their shares as financial products. Many had offered high prices for just a picture of their president in the past year but all of them failed. Many had privately slandered him that he must be incredibly ugly.
Fang JunRong had even heard from her daughter XinYun that some at her school were even betting on the looks of the boss behind the scenes of Qixing.
All she could say was that these people have too much time on their hands.
Even though Jiang DeXian asked her to attend as a shareholder, but Fang JunRong felt that he should be the center of attention today and she didn’t want to steal that from him.
She only planned to take a spot below the stage. Jiang DeXian arranged for her the middle spot in the first row, right smack in the center.
Fang JunRong arrived neither too early nor too late. Everyone in the first three rows were the ones who had received an invitation.
All of them had reached out to Qixing in the past about wanting to purchase their shares. Fang JunRong had just shown up when she was brought inside by a server.
Then, in the full blaze of publicity, she was brought to the center spot.
“Oh, Boss Fong is here as well.”
“So she is planning on buying some of Qixing’s shares as well?”
Fang JunRong had just sat down when a flood of questions came her way. She smiled lightly and said, “No, I am just here for the ceremony.”
She already owned 28% of the company; she didn’t need to buy more.
Everybody knew of Fang JunRong’s net worth. She was truly wealthy. The others weren’t half bad but they had limited working capital; far from that of Fang JunRong, who could easily shell out hundreds of millions in the blink of an eye.
Her being there made some feel that she was a strong competitor. What she had said made them feel relieved.
Fang JunRong even saw Liang Feng, another female magnate. Liang Feng owned Court Ladies. She spoke up for Fang JunRong during the whirlpool of public opinions and testified that the copy of Court Ladies that Li WangJin had was a counterfeit. That had greatly damaged Li WangJin’s reputation.
Even though Fang JunRong did not have too many exchanges with her, she certainly thought of Liang Feng as a friend. She nodded at Liang Feng and gave her a friendly smile.
Liang Feng, too, smiled back at her. “Your reputation precedes you.” A young and pretty girl sat next to her. She looked delicate and simple.
Noticing Fang JunRong’s look, Liang Feng said, “This is Liang Anqi, my niece. She had just returned from overseas this year and insisted on coming with me today.”
She sounded a bit helpless but the doting was obvious. Liang Feng has no daughter of her own so she dotted on her big brother’s daughter as though she was her own.
“Hi, Aunty Fang.” Liang Anqi gave Fang JunRong a sweet smile.
Fang JunRong wasn’t certain if it was just her imagination. The girl was certainly pretty, cute, and pleasing, but she felt that something was off about her. She smiled back and said, “Anqi is such a good girl.”
She was also a little befuddled. She had met Liang Hua, Liang Feng’s older brother. He wasn’t as successful as Liang Feng but he was a magnate nonetheless. He had a son and a daughter and she had met both of them in the past. As far as she could recall, she had never met this Liang Anqi before. Was she born out of the wedlock?
Liang Anqi said to her, “Aunty Fang looks so familiar right away. I wish Aunty Fang was my mother.”
Fang JunRong’s smile lightened. She had no interest in becoming someone’s stepmother.
