Chapter 391 – Keep you friends close; keep your enemies closer. (3)
When she arrived at the mansion, her heels clacked on the floor and her face was covered in a sheet of ice.
Fang JunRong noticed that the maid did not take off. She was standing there with her back straight. It didn’t seem like she thought she had done anything wrong judging by her look. She said to Liang Feng when she saw her, “I know what I did was wrong so I don’t expect to stay. I am quitting.”
Kong Shuang, too, had heard the news. She was both angry and worried, “Why did you do it?”
She was that close to getting her daughter back when their plan was foiled. The disappointment was so overwhelming that she was doing her best not to let it crush her.
Wu Fen, the maid, said, “Because I look down on you!
“So what if your daughter’s personality had changed a little and she was no longer as docile as she used to be? That’s not a reason to think that she was possessed and look for an exorcist. It didn’t matter how much her personality had changed, she is still your child.
“The way I see it, you rich people just want docile children who will follow your orders. Just like my parents, when I refused to let them leech off of me anymore, they, too, felt that I was possessed and also ended up almost killing me.”
It wasn’t easy for her to sever all of her ties with her family. When she saw Liang AnQi, it was like seeing her old self. Which was why she decided to help her out even if it’d cost her her job.
In the end of the day, it was her old helpless self that she wanted to save.
Liang Feng said coldly, “You seem to think of yourself as representing justice. Am I just a completely unreasonable person in your eyes?”
Kong Shuang could understand what was going through Wu Fen’s mind but that might have cost her her daughter’s life! She had to use a lot of self-control to stop herself from beating her up.
She threw a couple of notebooks over at her and there was a hint of hatred in her voice, “Look at these two notebooks and compare my daughter’s handwriting from six months ago and what it is now! Now tell me if they are the same person!” She had already had the handwriting checked out by experts.
Wu Fen was taken aback a little before she bent over and picked up the two notebooks. She was stunned when she flipped them open.

Jiang DeXian, too, felt quite helpless after receiving Fang JunRong’s call.
He had no idea why Fang JunRong felt so certain that Liang AnQi would go to him.
He didn’t care for Liang AnQi at all. The way she looked at him, she might as well have been looking at a piece of tempting fatty meat.
Regardless, Fang JunRong was not one to make things up out of the blue. If she asked him to keep the girl around, she must have her reasons.
Jiang DeXian gave the orders to not stop Liang AnQi should she come looking for him.
He waited and waited. Two days had passed and there were still no signs of Liang AnQi.
Perhaps Fang JunRong was wrong this time?
He recollected himself and put his focus back onto his work. His company’s newest software had proven to be quite popular among young people. It had great retention among its users and the number of downloads continued to climb.
Jiang DeXian felt that they could do better, drill down some more and add some more features to it. He had been in meetings with the technical team these last couple of days with regards to this.
Before he knew it, it was already 9 PM.
Jiang DeXian was not in the habit of sleeping at work. He planned to grab a bite to eat and head home.
When he reached the garage and before he could get into his car, a shadow dashed toward him.
“Please, help me!”
The voice sounded like it was crying.
Jiang DeXian’s first reaction was to dodge. The person, not able to stop herself in time, slammed directly into the car. She slammed into it so hard that she could not even maintain her look and it turned vicious. The pain from her abdomen rendered her unable to speak for quite a while.
Jiang DeXian glanced over at Liang AnQi: Fang JunRong was right. Liang AnQi really came.
Had it not been Fang JunRong’s call, Jiang DeXian wouldn’t not have engaged with her at all. Now, he would have to calm her down first.
