School Grass’ Special Pet – 18
After Bai Xun waited for a long time, she heard a rush of footsteps from above.
“Xiao Xun? How are you doing?” Su Shi’s anxious voice was not his usual calm.
“Senior?” Bai Xun showed a joyful smile, but her voice was weak. “I’m fine, but my legs seem to be unable to move.”
“Don’t be afraid, I’ll save you right away.” Su Shi looked around and was glad he brought a rope when he came over.
“Xiao Xun, I’ll drop the rope down, tie it around your waist and then I’ll pull you up.”
Bai Xun waited for Su Shi to throw the rope down. She tied it around her waist in a knot, then signaled, “Senior, I’m ready.”
Bai Xun was not heavy, so Su Shi quickly pulled her up.
He hugged the person and didn’t speak but buried his head in the other’s hair.
Bai Xun was stunned. She feels Su Shi’s heart beating violently the entire time. She hesitated, “Senior?”
“Xiao Xun, let me hold you for a while.”
Su Shi’s voice was very low as if he was afraid of losing a treasure.
“Xiao Xun, you scared me. I was so frightened when I heard your accident. Fortunately, you’re fine.”
Bai Xun’s helpless hands paused, then slowly encircled Su Shi’s waist and gently said, “Yes, I’m okay, you saved me.”
Bai Xun’s words of comfort and gratitude made Su Shi hold her tighter.
Gao Yuan who was panting from rushing to the scene, was not far and slowly stopped.
Bai Xun saw him, but only glanced at him. She stopped looking at him and closed her eyes.
“By the way, how is your leg?” Su Shi gradually calmed down, and then remembered what she had said before.
“It hurts a bit and I don’t dare exert myself.” Bai Xun’s pale face shows that it was more than a bit of pain.
Su Shi stopped talking and kneeled in front of her and straightened her onto his back.
“Ah, senior?” Bai Xun’s conditional reflexes wrapped her arms around his neck.
“You must go to the hospital immediately. We’ll go back to camp to find a car first.” Su Shi explained and didn’t stop his feet to quickly go back.
When he reached Gao Yuan in the middle of the road, he paused then passed him.
Both of them did not greet each other with tacit understanding. Bai Xun simply buried her head on Su Shi’s back.
“Xiao Xun…” Gao Yuan’s voice was dry, and he felt the two people passed by. His hands clenched into fists and slowly tightened.
He didn’t understand, his relationship with Bai Xun was fine yesterday. How could there be a gap overnight? It made him feel more and more distant from her and he was nervous.
……
Waiting back at the camp, Huang Yanran’s feet were handled simply. She looked at Bai Xun who was carried by Su Shi and gazed at the lost soul Gao Yuan behind them.
“How is Xiao Xun?” Huang Yanran asked with concerns.
Bai Xun wanted to say that she was fine. But, Su Shi interrupted her, “She’s not very well. Her legs were injured. Now we have to go to the hospital as soon as possible.”
Su Shi moved very quickly. He found a car and placed Bai Xun in the passenger seat.
“Yanran, how is your foot? Do you want to go with us?” Bai Xun looked like she remembered and looked at Huang Yanran with concern.
Huang Yanran has been paying attention to Gao Yuan’s focus on Bai Xun. She knows that the other party will follow Bai Xun to the hospital.
“Okay, then I will go with you. Can A Yuan accompany me?” She said and expectantly looked at Gao Yuan.
Originally Gao Yuan was prepared to go with them, so he didn’t speak, but helped Huang Yanran onto the bus.
The atmosphere in the car was depressing. Bai Xun didn’t utter a word. Su Shi paid attention to her from time to time. She could feel Gao Yuan’s eyes silently fixed on her from behind. While Huang Yanran noticed all this and looked uncertain.
……
When she arrived at the hospital, the doctor saw her and fortunately was diagnosed with only a slight fracture in her calf. She had to be hospitalized for a rest period.
In the ward, Bai Xun looked at the three people who stood by her bed, and finally looked at Huang Yanran.
“Yanran, did the doctor see your foot yet? Are there any issues?”
At this time, she still remembered her little injury…
Huang Yanran’s face flashed with a trace of complexity, but soon sorted her emotions and smiled at Bai Xun. “I’m fine, but it’s you. I should thank you. If it wasn’t for you, it would have been me lying there.”
Bai Xun shook her head. “Yanran, you should go back to rest, I’m here…”
“I’ll take care of you.” Su Shi said gently and helped tuck in her quilt.
“We can’t have so many people here and you can’t help with anything if you stayed.” For the first time, he was being rude.
Bai Xun looked embarrassed. “Senior, you can go back to rest. I have the doctors and nurses here. Don’t worry.”
Su Shi smiled faintly. “Xiao Xun, have you forgotten what you promised me? Let me stay here and take care of you.”
Naturally, what he meant was that he was actively pursuing her, but in the eyes of the other two, it seemed like an intimate and ambiguous agreement.
Bai Xun didn’t speak as if acquiescing to the ambiguous words.
From beginning to end, she didn’t look at Gao Yuan and didn’t say a word to him.
Gao Yuan’s heart was uncomfortable, and he looked ugly with depression.
He left without saying a word and left an angry air behind him.
After Huang Yanran hurriedly said goodbye to Bai Xun, she followed him.
Only then did Bai Xun turned her head to look at Gao Yuan’s back. Her gaze fell into Su Shi’s eyes and his eyes dimmed.
Outside the hospital, Gao Yuan stopped, and Huang Yanran followed him and stood by his side.
After a while she saw that he wasn’t moving, she reached out and held his hand and smiled, “A Yuan, you can accompany me back to my home.”
Gao Yuan glanced at her and slowly pulled his hand away and stared at her with his cold eyes. “What did you say to her? She wouldn’t start treating me like air for no reason.”
The smile on Huang Yanran’s face gradually disappeared. “What do you mean? Do you still need me to say it?”
She was so fed up. For the past two days, she watched Gao Yuan’s caring eyes and his actions, which made her smile. “I’m your fiancée. What is she to you?”
Gao Yuan’s emotions were in turmoil. “How many times do you want me to say it? What fiancée? I have nothing to do with the Lu family.”
Huang Yanran smiled lightly. “A Yuan, don’t be naïve. Uncle Lu allows your freedom now. But do you think it matters if you talk to him? And Bai Xun, can’t you see that she’s together with Su Shi?”
Her words are like a sharp blade, firmly inserted in Gao Yuan’s heart.
He looked ugly but was forcibly propped against the cold wall. “That’s my business.”
He flagged down a taxi and stuffed her in. “It’s time for you to go home.”
Huang Yanran angrily slammed against the window glass and looked at Gao Yuan. His face was unclear.
In the hospital, Bai Xun watched Huang Yanran’s favorability decrease gradually, and felt the bitterness from her useless attempt to increase it.
Su Shi looked at Bai Xun in sorrow and his smile was bitter – you still like him…
