Yu Fei doesn’t understand why Yu Yu is so hostile to her, so she stares at Yu Yu without a word.
The phone rings. When Yu Yu sees that it is Ko Chen, her arrogant look appears again. In the presence of Yu Fei, she answers the phone in a charming way, “Hi, Chen.”
Her voice scares Yu Fei and she subconsciously wants to escape.
But Yu Yu doesn’t give her the chance and glances at her.
She ha no way to know what Ko Chen said, but Yu Yu replies, “I meet my sister downstairs. We haven’t seen each other for a long time, so we talk for a while.”
Her tone is so affectionate that an uninformed person will believe the two sisters are on pretty good terms, not knowing the woman is the one who detests Yu Fei most in the world, and if possible, she wishes Yu Fei would disappear in the next second.
From the beginning to the end, Yu Fei has never enjoyed the so-called sisterhood.
Originally, Ko Chen called to urge Yu Yu back for she spent nearly one hour in buying coffee. Although he doesn’t really intend to appoint Yu Fei as his secretary and it doesn’t matter how dawdling she is, he has to take into account his staff’s feelings for they are watching them.
But it surprises him to hear that Yu Fei is downstairs. Now he has no way to concentrate on his work. He puts down his pen immediately and walks to the French windows to look downstairs.
Looking down from such a high floor, all the people on the road become ant-like black spots. But even so, he catches Yu Fei at a glance.
In his eyes, Yu Fei is always the most special one.
He hears Yu Yu deliberately asking, “Chen, I think my sister is looking for you. Do you have time now? Can I take her to meet you?”
She says with a smile, which is not a kind one.
Ko Chen can imagine her arrogant look, and also Yu Fei’s standing opposite her with a cold face in silence.
“No, thanks. I don’t have time.”
Ko Chen hears his indifferent words, which echo in his spacious office.
Yu Yu gets the answer she wants and her smile becomes more and more malicious.
Yu Fei can guess Ko Chen’s cruel answer only by Yu Yu’s expression.
Yu Yu puts the phone away. In a voice that only she and Yu Fei can hear, she mutters, “Chen said he didn’t have time to see you. You know what it means, right?”
Yu Fei’s face turns white, and her dangling hand clenches into a fist. Her heart hurts once and once again as if being struck by fists.
Yu Yu feels satisfied with Yu Fei’s reaction and puts the phone to her ear again. Her voice becomes charming again as if she didn’t say that hurtful words to Yu Fei just now.
“Chen, Fei will be sad if you say so.”
Ko Chen grips the phone upstairs. Actually his heart has already flown downstairs, and if possible, he would hold Yu Fei desperately in his arms and never let her go.
But the reality tells him he can’t do it.
“Her sadness has nothing to do with me.” Ko Chen utters grimly on purpose.
But what he doesn’t know is that Yu Yu has set HF mode and his words are heard by both Yu Yu and Yu Fei.
It is like a bolt from the blue, directly striking her brain with an exploding boom. She gazes ahead in an absent-mind manner, with cold sweats emerging from her palms. It is sunny today, but she feels frozen.
The goal achieved, Yu Yu loosens Yu Fei and picks up the coffee bag. She walks into Ko Tower charmingly without even taking a look at Yu Fei. The sound of “tuk tuk” produced by her high heels is so harsh to Yu Fei’s ears.
The only thought in Yu Fei’s head is going home. Only after she reaches her home will she feel secured.
In a great rush, which equals a runaway, she calls a taxi to Gu Yi’s house. And she packs her luggage as fast as she can. She doesn’t have many stuffs, so it doesn’t take much time.
Dragging the luggage out of the room, Yu Fei takes the key down and puts it on the end table. Thinking about it, she decides to leave a note for it’s impolite to leave without any message.
She opens the door of her own house. There is a smell of dust in the air for nobody has lived here for a long time.
Yu Fei is especially sensitive to smell as a pregnant woman. She waves her hand before her nose, and the smell dissipates a little.
She puts the luggage at the door and opens all the windows to ventilate the room. It takes her a whole afternoon to clean up the house. Now the house is available, but her clothes are drenched by sweat.
Sticky clothes make her uncomfortable, so she takes her pajamas to the bathroom and has a bath.
Vapor spreads out of the bathroom. At this time, the screen of her phone on the end table suddenly lights up, on which the two words “Gu Yi” flash for a moment, and finally it darkens.
Gu Yi is in the company and his eyelids are twitching the whole day (Chinese folks believe twitching of the left eyelid means good luck, while the right one means bad luck), so he goes home half an hour earlier than usual, only to find the note that Yu Fei left. Reading rapidly, he squeezes the note into a ball and throws it into the trash can.
He calls Yu Fei several times, but she doesn’t answer. His face turns gloomy. Now he can no longer wait at home and goes straight to Yu Fei’s home with keys .
Yu Fei feels refreshed after the shower. Wiping her hair, she steps out of the bathroom. The doorbell rings before she has time to takes her second step.
She opens the door, only to see Gu Yi standing beside the door, looking anxious.
Gu Yi’s coming is out of her expectation. She mutters with surprise, “Why do you…”
Before she can say “come”, Gu Yi immediately steps forward to hold her in his arms.
Fragrance of body wash and shampoo lingering on Yu Fei’s body after her bath goes through his nose, and he holds her more tightly.
Not knowing where to settle her hands, she doesn’t know what happened to Gu Yi. She still has some resistance to his embrace, so she struggles slightly, “Gu Yi, let me go…”
Gu Yi is awakened by her words and loosens his hands as if getting an electric shock. He steps back a little, and fixes his hair which actually is not messy, not knowing where to look at.
The situation becomes awkward. Yu Fei wipes her hair with a towel. After some hesitation, she moves aside and says to Gu Yi, “Come in?”
But Gu Yi doesn’t respond. He doesn’t move until he looks Yu Fei up and down for several times, and then he walks into the room.
They sit at the opposite sides of the sofa, not knowing what to say. A variety show is on TV with bursts of laughter.
