Chapter 77: Meeting with Rival in Love
Tan Lin looks at Ko Chen and asks with pride, “how is it, the environment is not bad, right?” Ko Chen has always been not concerned about these, but considering that the woman has been sitting idle all afternoon just to wait for him, he nods. Seeing that, the smile on Tan Lin’s face becomes more beautiful that sets off her lachrymal mole in a more charming manner.
Although it can’t been noticed on the surface, Tan Lin has been looking at Yu Fei and Gu Yi behind Ko Chen from time to time. On entering the room, she sees them and has come up with an idea in terms of the material contents. She has a good disguise and has been looking for topics to talk with Ko Chen. Although he is not that enthusiastic, Ko Chen answers all her questions and there is no awkward silence.
As dishes come one after another, Tan Lin is thinking about how to create an inadvertent “encounter” for Yu Fei and Ko Chen, while talking with Ko. It is interesting just to think that the couple who have not divorced bump into each other for dinner with another man or woman. Tan Lin is not the only one who has been paying attention to them, so is Gu Yi.
However, his idea is different from that of Tan Lin in that he doesn’t want Yu Fei and Ke Chen to meet because every time she sees the man, there will be unavoidable emotional billows in her heart which are never told but noticed by Gu Yi. People at the two tables have different thoughts but Ko Chen and Yu Fei, who are the protagonists, are totally ignorant.
When the last dessert is served, Tan Lin glances at the table in front where Yu Fei almost finishes her meal, and it is time for action. She pretends to be sorry and says to Ko Chen, “Chen, I’ll go to the bathroom.” Not knowing her plan, Ko Chen nods to her. Tan Lin walks out with an enchanting figure.
At the moment she stood up, Gu Yi noticed her and he was delighted because he thought they were going to leave. However, the woman is coming towards them but Ko Chen is still sitting in his seat, which makes him realize his misjudgment. Seeing that it is the woman who comes instead of Ko Chen, Gu Yi feels relaxed a little, but his composure is soon disturbed by the woman’s exclamation.
When Tan Lin comes to Yu Fei’s table, her foot suddenly sprains, and she falls on Yu Fei exactly. The cup is knocked on the ground, which makes a loud noise. Hearing that, Ko Chen immediately looks back, however, the first one who comes into his eyes is not Tan Lin, but Yu Fei, who is pressed down by Tan Lin, and then he notices Gu Yi sitting opposite.
Tan Lin’s clothes are stained by the spilled red wine and Yu Fei draws several pieces of paper to clean it. Suddenly a familiar male voice comes from behind, “what happened?” Yu fei is frozen instantly, and the movement of her hand also stops. Tan Lin is aware of Yu Fei’s stiffness, showing a smile that is not easy to detect. She quickly gets up from Yu Fei, pretends not to stand steadily and shakes her body.
Ko Chen hurriedly holds her up while Tan Lin moves closer to his back purposely, which makes them look more intimate. Yu Fei is frozen in place and does not dare to look aside. Tan Lin laughs secretly because she won’t allow Yu Fei to be so uncooperative since she has carefully planned such a good play.
She lies in Ko Chen’s arms, like a frightened rabbit, scolds herself and says, “It’s my fault, and I walked carelessly and bumped this lady.” Tan Lin lowers her head and behaves like a child who has made a mistake, but the expression on her face does not suggest that. Ko Chen has been gazing at Yu Fei all the time and it is even unnecessary for the latter to turn around to feel his burning sight.
Gu Yi stands up and goes over to block in front of Yu Fei with a cold smile. “Mr. Ko, it’s really a coincidence that we meet again.” Her words are full of gunpowder. Ko Chen squints and feels the provocation. He glances again at Yu Fei who stands behind Gu Yi, and only the top of her head can be seen. Her hair still looks so soft that Ko Chen even wants to stroke it.
Perceiving Ko Chen’s absent-mindedness, Gu Yi is more upset, and it is obvious that Ko doesn’t take him seriously. Unwilling to stay here any more, Gu Yi turns around and holds Yu Fei’s hand. At the moment when he touches her hand, she flinches for a second, but then there is no action. Their intimate action is so dazzling that Ko Chen’s jealousy breaks out uncontrollably.
“We haven’t divorced, are you in such a hurry to find another man?” The words are full of ridicule, and every word is heavily knocked on Yu Fei’s heart. She doesn’t expect that Ko Chen has always considered her as that. Darkness covers Yu Fei while she stands up abruptly. Her another hand grabs the corner of the table in a hurry and it takes seconds for her to regain consciousness and then light returns to her.
Yu Fei turns her head to look at Ko Chen, glances at Tan Lin, who is still lying in his arms, and
snaps, “since Mr. Ko can always be accompanied by a beauty, what’s wrong with Gu Yi and me going out to have dinner?” This is the first time that Yu Fei has talked to Ko Chen in this tone which surprises both of them.
From then on, Ko Chen’s sight has never been torn away from Yu Fei. Tan Lin can see clearly and she is resentful. If she was not sure before, it is now obvious that the woman in front of her occupies Ko Chen’s heart. Ko Chen sneers, glances at Gu Yi, and hugs Tan Lin more closely. He looks straight at Yu Fei, as if answering silently with action that “I do have a beauty. What can you do with me?”
The sight in front of her breaks Yu Fei’s heart. Without the support of the table, she could fall down at any time, and the blood on her face almost fades in a second. Catching the sight of her bloodless face, Ko Chen is softhearted again. At this time, Tan Lin asks tenderly, “Chen, who is this woman?”
The voice is charming and delectable. She also defiantly glances at Yu Fei, but it can not be seen from the angle of Ko Chen. Ko Chen hugs Tan Lin tighter again, makes a disdainful light hum, and utters heartbreaking words: “Just an unimportant person, don’t care.”
