The young girl thanked him politely.
She walked slowly on the path in the fields towards the village. Expectation surged in her heart as she admired the scenery.
It had been ages since she had seen them last and she couldn’t help but smile.
Time seemed to have left no traces on both of them. The young man still looked as gorgeous as before. His icy blue eyes glanced at her before he turned his head around in an aggrieved manner and hugged the girl’s waist.
“Lai En, you’re not allowed to take too long.”
The girl stroked his icy blue hair, looking helpless. “Dai Linnuo helped us before.”
“I know.” The young man tightened his grip around her waist as he brushed his smooth face against hers. He pouted with his thin, soft lips and gave her a peck on her cheek.
An Moer had spoken sweetly and adorably before he widened his good-looking eyes to glance at Dai Linnuo. He mumbled, “If she didn’t, I wouldn’t have allowed you to meet her.”
Dai Linnuo gave a helpless smile as she met the girl’s equally helpless look. She lifted the hem of her dress and curtsied politely. “In that case, can I talk with Lai En in private?”
The expression in An Moer’s eyes instantly dimmed. Beneath his raven-black eyelashes, he couldn’t conceal the gloom in his icy blue eyes as he glared at Dai Linnuo.
He felt a sudden thud on his fair forehead and he turned around to glance at Yu Chu. With an aggrieved expression in his eyes, he bit his red lips before he relinquished his grip.
Before he left the room, he couldn’t help but lean against the door frame and say pitifully, “You can’t take too long.”
Yu Chu pressed her palm against her forehead.
Finally, they were alone. Princess Dai Linnuo smiled and said, “You are leading a blissful life.”
The former golden-haired prince pressed her lips together with an earnest expression in her eyes. “We need to thank you properly.”
Dai Linnuo gently shook her head. “I merely chose an option where everyone could be happy. To be frank, seeing you happy makes me happier than having you with me. I’ve never regretted my decision.”
In this world, there were two types of unhappy people. The first type would try all sorts of methods to destroy others’ happiness to get some consolation. The other type would try their best to make others happy so that they could be happy themselves. Dai Linnuo belonged to the latter.
The golden-haired girl held the princess’s hand gently with her warm brown eyes gazing at her quietly. “Dai Linnuo, you’ll find your happiness.”
The princess smiled and replied softly, “Thank you. I will.”
…
In the end, she didn’t obey An Moer and the two girls chatted for a long time. After she sent Dai Linnuo off, the young man pressed his lips together, looking as though he were extremely aggrieved. He accused her softly, “You ignored me the entire afternoon.”
She answered rather half-heartedly,” Oh, sorry. An Moer is the best. Forgive me!”
The young man who stood behind her, fell silent for some time. His beautiful icy blue eyes blinked and he suddenly bit his lip. He whispered, “Forgiving you… isn’t impossible.”
He pressed his body against her and he used his thin lips to bite the girl’s ear. His long eyelashes brushed against the girl’s cheek as he drawled slowly, “Lai En, you’re not allowed to cry tonight or beg for mercy. Then I shall forgive you.”
Some time later, people heard that the prince had disappeared on his wedding night. The king then selected a child from the imperial family to replace his son. The beautiful Princess Dai Linnuo married a neighboring prince and even gave birth to a chubby son.
But those were others’ matters.
They were leading their own blissful lives.
