Yu Chu had just gone online when she saw exciting news all over the game. It was as if all the players had exploded in excitement and the news was spreading furiously.
‘Flowers Blooming in My World’ replied, ‘Ah! My hubby is finally online!’
‘A Fine Breeze Blows’ typed, ‘Girl on top, please conduct yourself with dignity. Master belongs to everyone. Thank you.’
‘None Other’ replied, ‘Second that.’
‘Strawberry Flavored Candy’ commented, ‘Our God and Prince Charming hasn’t been online for more than two weeks… I missed him so much! I thought he quit the game! Thank god he hasn’t!’
‘Tying the Knot With You’ replied, ‘He is known as the God of Warriors and he truly lives up to his name. He hasn’t played the game for more than half a month and yet he’s still ranked number one! Wow…’
…
Yu Chu read several comments before she clicked on the rankings. She found S’s details and clicked on them. In glittering words it said his status was ‘online.’
Wow, this person was really popular.
She read a few more comments in the game forums and noticed a few negative posts amongst the lovestruck ones.
‘Living Up to Expectations’ commented, ‘What? S didn’t even reveal his photo. Who knows if he is an ugly clown.’
‘Sorrowful Lake’ replied, ‘Yeah. Previously, the forums were selecting the gods and goddesses. People were clamoring for him and he didn’t even dare to put up a photo. I bet he is too ugly to be seen… Hahaha.’
…
Yu Chu stroked her nose as she exited the forums. She stared at her character and her level, which sparkled brightly. Then she sighed to herself. She was only at level 10.
At the beginning, it was easy to climb levels but becoming a master wasn’t easy. Yu Chu had no wish to spend hundreds of hours training and fighting monsters. Hence, she asked the system.
“Hello, is there an alternative method?”
The system answered, “Someone who cheats is a bad person.”
Yu Chu yearned to smack the system’s head. “I merely want to complete my mission and I won’t do anything else. Just give me some help. I want to improve on my forging skills.”
The forging skill was a supplemental ability. According to Yu Chu’s observations, there weren’t many blacksmiths in the game so the system decided to give her some help.
Yu Chu clicked on the skills manual and decided to focus her effort on mastering her forging skills. She clicked on her bag and realized that she didn’t have enough materials.
Forging skills had nothing to do with the battle rankings whatsoever as it was considered an independent entity.
With help from the system, Yu Chu only needed to improve on her forging skills to become an expert. So even if she were only at level 10, no one would be able to belittle her.
She spent dozens of gold coins to purchase a pair of sturdy boots. She chose the outskirts of a city on the map and her character automatically scuttled towards the destination swiftly.
There were many ferocious beasts hiding in the outskirts of the city. She couldn’t just walk up and kill them all like the masters. She had to hide and lay in ambush.
Yu Chu moved her mouse and navigated her character towards the bushes. Then, she waited nervously for the beast to appear.
Perhaps luck was on her side. It took a little while before a beast came pouncing from afar as it swept up a hurricane in its trail. The sight was magnificent.
Yu Chu stood motionless until it appeared in front of her. She whipped out her dagger and clicked on a technique. She made a slash and retreated swiftly.
Her attack would incur the wrath of the beast and cause it to attack her. However, the beast’s attack was limited to a certain distance. If she ran out of a certain boundary, the beast would lose interest in her.
Yu Chu’s plan was to exhaust the beast.
