Chapter 46: Innocent Online Game Master (Part 22)
Lightning Lake level?
Yu Chu’s eyes sparkled.
The Lightning Lake level was a difficult level. Her skills weren’t good enough to challenge that level with Master. However, there was a possibility of procuring an extremely rare item at the Lightning Lake level. Yu Chu really needed it.
She had to say that Li Haorui’s invitation seemed as though he had sent charcoal to her in snowy weather. The other party must have known that she needed that item and that was why he had invited her. After all, she could only get her share of dropped items and equipment only if she joined forces with other players.
She replied immediately.
In the private chat, Meowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeow typed, ‘Alright, alright! Give me a minute. Just a minute.’
Li Haorui read her reply and his eyes twinkled with a grin.
In the private chat, A Boat As Light As a Leaf replied, ‘Sure.’
Yu Chu held the mouse in her hand as she allowed her character to navigate itself on the map. She stared at the reply and the expression in her eyes flickered.
For someone who had no idea, she would assume that this person was someone gentle.
However, Yu Chu had known that the proprietor had once professed her love for Li Haorui in a letter. Not only did the school beau throw the letter into the trash bin, he had surveyed the proprietor with a slightly contemptuous look. “You?”
Li Haorui was very realistic.
He may appear to be polite but in his heart he had his own scale for evaluating people. Only someone worthy could win his approval. Such an obsequious ordinary person like the proprietor wasn’t worthy enough to have a crush on him. Yu Chu lowered her head and clicked accept when the other party sent her an invitation.
This level was meant for five people. After she joined the team, she saw three other names in the player list.
She saw some familiar names.
Hera’s Apple and Faraway Time. And someone named Old Wolf.
Yu Chu scanned through the names and retracted her gaze. She entered the group chat and someone was typing away happily.
In the group chat, Old Wolf typed, ‘Wow. You’re really something. You managed to attract the best blacksmith to our team.’
His remarks contained surprise and a hint of ambiguity.
He was surprised to discover that A Boat As Light As a Leaf and Meowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeow had become close. As for hinting at an ambiguous relationship, that was because A Boat As Light As a Leaf had completely ignored Meowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeow not too long ago. Yet, he had personally invited her to join their team.
The flames of gossip were burning. Li Haorui explained in the group chat.
A Boat As Light As a Leaf typed, ‘This level has what ‘Meowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeow’ wants. That’s why I invited her.’
Yu Chu decided that she should introduce herself.
In the group chat, Meowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeow said, ‘Hi everyone.’
Old Wolf replied, ‘Hi, Master Meowmeow!’
Yu Chu sent a smiling emoji to him. The group chat may seem harmonious and cheerful, but the two other girls couldn’t take it any longer.
Lin Xinxin and Li Rong belonged to the Battle Clan. Previously, A Boat As Light As a Leaf had declined to help Meowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeow train her skills. He claimed that he already had a disciple. This had delighted Lin Xinxin.
However, A Boat As Light As a Leaf had invited Meowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeowmeow on his own accord. Wasn’t this helping her train? Lin Xinxin was seething in anger.
However, she had to continue with her facade and hence she couldn’t say anything right now. In the end, she could only contain her anger and pretended to be surprised.
Hera’s Apple typed, ‘Level 20?’
As expected, Li Rong automatically chimed in.
Faraway Time commented, ‘Her level is too low. She’ll be dead weight.’
