However…
His fine-looking lips were pressed together tightly as he watched the person he had saved with an inscrutable expression. She was being supported carefully by someone else. His relief at the idea that someone would take over from him had vanished completely. Extreme annoyance stemmed from his heart instead.
Perhaps he shouldn’t have left her there. He could have left her on shore.
As he watched how gently the princess was comforting her, he recalled how he had pushed her back into the waters earlier. The difference between them was too glaring. Even if he were the one who had saved her, she would have developed some affection for the princess too…
He had no idea why, but when this thought flashed through his mind, the little mermaid’s skin got paler suddenly. He blinked and bit his lips with a sombre expression in his blue eyes.
…
A week later, the prince’s ship set off once more.
Yu Chu, feeling bored, leaned against the railing. Her golden hair was slightly messed up by the wind.
She had been waiting for the little mermaid to appear once more and she wondered why he hadn’t appeared.
He seemed to be very interested when she promised to repay him. Wasn’t it?
If he didn’t appear to receive his reward, it would be difficult for Yu Chu to track him down. How would she be able to seek his approval then?
She was feeling melancholic. “System, will he come?”
The system replied, “I can’t read Master’s mind.”
She was speechless…
Yu Chu turned around to glance towards the front of the ship. She caught a glimpse of something icy blue cutting across the surface of the water.
She was momentarily stunned and then she suddenly thought of something. Her eyes lit up right away.
“An Moer?”
The waves were calm and the waters were quiet. It was as though the figure earlier was just an illusion.
Yu Chu blinked in disappointment. She had a hunch that he wouldn’t come today.
She sighed softly to herself and took a step back to return to her room.
However, there was a slight movement in the calm waters. A pair of beautiful eyes appeared from beneath the surface.
The icy blue hair rippled in the water as the young man raised his head. His icy blue eyes were shining and his features were gorgeous and exquisite. He was a breathtaking sight.
He suddenly bit his lips as he glanced at Yu Chu with a pitiful expression. With his thin lips pressed together, his adorable dimples appeared on his fair cheeks.
Yu Chu’s heart melted when he gazed at her.
Moreover, this man was her master.
She gazed at the little mermaid and asked, “You’re here! Do you want to come up and play? I reckon you haven’t seen where humans live. I can show you around.”
The mermaid bit his lips and raised his eyes timidly. His eyelashes, which resembled tiny fans, fluttered. He asked softly,
“Lai En… Do you blame me?” he asked timidly. His thick eyelashes concealed the inexplicable expression in his icy blue eyes.
His annoyance hadn’t dissipated since a week ago. However, when he saw her ship today, he suddenly felt as though something had entered his heart gently. And that comforted him considerably.
However, what reason would he have for seeing her? He didn’t care about any compensation from humans. Why would he go?
There was obviously no reason, but in the end…
The young man seemed slightly angry at the thought of this. He couldn’t help but bite his rosy lips.
Yu Chu was taken aback. “Why would I blame you?”
The little mermaid raised his eyelashes and blinked. He replied quietly,
“I didn’t send Lai En to shore. Lai En, don’t you blame me?”
