Chapter 58: Better to Hide to Avoid the Danger 2/2
When Liu Wei was fighting the others previously, she dodged most of it, mainly just for defence and seldom offensive. But now, these people are simply too overbearing.
No matter how good-tempered Liu Wei is, she is pissed!
She immediately took out a silver needle from her sleeves and waited for an opportunity. The sharp needle pierced through the air and aimed at the middle of the forehead of the two unwary guards who were closest to her. Their head was in pain suddenly and their actions slowed down.
“You bunch of useless idiots!” Princess Yuehai supported her broken right arm and stood up. Her pretty face was filled with malicious intents as she joined in the fight. She pulled out the long sword at her waist and aimed at Liu Wei.
At this moment, Liu Wei was enraged.
She frowned, raised her foot and kicked Princess Yuehai’s chest. This time around, Liu Wei did not control her strength. Princess Yuehai flew backwards and fell hard onto the ground just like that.
“Ah —!” Princess Yuehai shrieked in pain once again.
Liu Wei wanted to use the fastest way to finish off these henchmen. But these people were too quick, and she could not dodge in time.
Right then, several short airflows swiftly flew past. The next second, the surrounding henchmen fell onto the ground as if they were hit by a concealed weapon.
Liu Wei breathed a sigh of relief. Suddenly, a big and warm hand grabbed her and pulled her, squeezing into the crowds.
“Hey, you……” she called.
The person in front turned back, gestured to her to keep quiet and said, “Don’t make noise. Quickly leave.”
Liu Wei could only shut her mouth. In her heart, she thought, is the guy the one who used the hidden weapon? Such a refined gentleman, who would have thought he does have some skills up on his sleeves?
Yuwen Yao brought Liu Wei through Yi Ya pavilion’s back entrance. Until they calmed down, he grumbled, “Do you know who did you just offend? You must not want to live anymore. I have yet to see anyone who dares to offend Princess Yuehai.”
Not sure if he was really grumbling or laughing at others’ misfortune, but when he said that, he was obviously laughing at the corners of his lips — with much interest.
Liu Wei clasped her hands, “Thank you for lending a helping hand just now!”
“Not a problem,” the man gently replied, “just don’t leave right now. Now that you have offended Princess Yuehai, she must be looking for you on the streets. It is better to hide to avoid the danger.”
Liu Wei did not speak. She looked at her surroundings, “this place is?”
“Yi Ya pavilion.”
Liu Wei did not know this place. Yuwen Yao pulled her in as he introduced the area.
“Yi Ya pavilion is known to be refined and quiet. It was established not long ago, just a mere three years, and now it has become a place where the young ladies and gentlemen from the capital enjoy themselves — so much that they forget to go home. Occasionally, I will spend my time here for a few hours. Gentleman looks like an avid reader too. Maybe inside, there are some books that you might like.”
To say it simply, it is just a bookstore for people to practice their literature?
Yi Ya pavilion — the name is not bad. Liu Wei observed the area. As expected, the furnishings were excellent, the environment which young ladies and gentlemen alike.
They entered through the backdoor, past by the backyard and entered a hall. The sight of the hall made Liu Wei jump.
Although this is a bookstore, this place is so much bigger than it. Inside the spacious main lobby, people were painting, playing chess and matching antithetical couplets. The second floor was much quieter. Most of them occupy a seat to read their book as they sipped their tea.
The scent of ink lightly floated the air which made the atmosphere much more elegant and refined.
“How is it?” Yuwen Yao curved the corners of his lips and casually took a book on the table. He scanned two pages and said, “You mentioned the book ‘Record of Living Things’, is it this?
Liu Wei took a glance at the cover, “That’s right.”
“I have read this book before. I have also read the Diary of Qingshan’s Chang and Apricot literature before. But it did not talk about the usage of raw eternal herbs.” The man was confused. He passed the book to Liu Wei, “Would the gentleman answer my doubts please?”
Liu Wei thought that since this person had saved her once, she shall not reject him.
