Chapter 139.5: She’s Back (5)
Ye Sui hugged Chen Shu back, she wanted to speak, but she choked with sobs and couldn’t speak. She could only hold him tightly, and only by embracing him so closely could she feel that this moment wasn’t her illusion.
Chen Shu raised his hand and carefully stroked Ye Sui’s cheek. His movements were extremely light, slow, and gentle.
After a while, the two people’s moods gradually calmed down. Ye Sui looked at the Buddha Statue with mixed feelings, “It is the gods who helped us.”
Before, she was willing to trade her life for his life, using her death for Chen Shu to live. And now, he was willing to share his life with her, in exchange for her to wake up.
They were really a pair of fools.
Chen Shu said, “If this is true, it would be a good thing, then we can always be together.”
He held Ye Sui’s hand, and the two looked at each other deeply, not wanting to separate for a moment. At that time, Chen Shu sensed that a powerful force was pulling him.
His body moved back uncontrollably, and even though he tried to hold Ye Sui’s hand, he was still pushed back.
Their hands separated bit by bit, and in the next second, Ye Sui disappeared before his eyes. Chen Shu was shocked, his voice hoarse as he shouted, “Ye Sui–”
Didn’t know how long it took, Chen Shu finally opened his eyes, and he found himself in the temple, maintaining the original kneeling posture.
The surroundings were as calm as ever, and he couldn’t see Ye Sui either. Everything that happened just now was like a long and distant dream.
Chen Shu murmured, “Ye Sui…”
At that moment, the abbot in the temple walked in. He said, “Benefactor Chen, it’s late, it’s time to leave.”
Chen Shu looked outside the hall, the light outside was dim, and the evening twilight started shrouding the earth, and it was already dusk.
It was noon when he knelt down to make a wish, but now it was dusk when he woke up. How long did he kneel down and worship?
What was he doing in the past few hours? Why did he see Ye Sui just now? Was that really his illusion?
Chen Shu was confused, he asked, “Just now I…”
The abbot interrupted Chen Shu’s words saying, “Benefactor Chen, people who are predestined will gather together, and those who are not destined together can’t force it.”
The abbot lowered his head and gestured, “Benefactor Chen, please.”
Chen Shu nodded towards the abbot and left. The abbot looked at Chen Shu’s back and shook his head, such an idiot.
Chen Shu wanted to know if Ye Sui was still by his side now, he asked softly, “Are you here?”
There was no wind around, even the leaves didn’t move at all, and the silence could cause someone to feel apprehensive.
Chen Shu asked again, “If you are here, write a line on the ground and tell me.”
Chen Shu lowered his head, looking fixedly at the ground, after a long time there wasn’t even any writing on the ground. There was fine dust on the ground, leaves falling slowly and the stones scattered everywhere…
But there wasn’t any handwriting, Ye Sui wasn’t here.
Chen Shu’s heart contracted abruptly, and there was anxiety in his heart. He raised his head, looked forward without giving up, and asked again, “Ye Sui, are you here?”
However, no one answered him, except the noise of the flowing wind.
Chen Shu’s heart felt empty. He walked forward, his steps were very slow, every step seemed to exhaust all his strength.
He was desperate and disappointed thinking that Ye Sui’s soul was with him before, but now, her soul was gone.
He shouldn’t have come to the temple, he had done something wrong.
Chen Shu started the car and stopped in front of the hospital entrance. He walked outside the ward and pushed open the door in a daze.
His whole person was extremely silent, losing all of his anger, like a puppet without a soul.
He looked up at the hospital bed, but was stunned. He met a pair of black and clear eyes, so familiar and so beautiful.
“Ye Sui.”
Ye Sui was lying on the bed. She turned her head and watched Chen Shu quietly. She finally woke up, and her eyes were filled with unspeakable emotions.
Chen Shu looked at Ye Sui incredulously, his body stiffened, he thought he was back in the previous dream.
He nervously asked again, “Ye Sui, is that you?”
Ye Sui looked at Chen Shu without blinking, her thin lips slightly opened, and she slowly said his name, every word, very clearly, “Chen Shu.”
Ye Sui’s eyes were filled with tears, as she said.
“I am back.”
