Xi Wen Chong looked at Gu Xiao Xiao walking over with a smile. He then nodded at Chu Xiao Xi, who was beside her, as a way to greet her.
“I came back to deal with some things. Xiao Xiao, it’s been a while.”
“Yeah, it’s been nearly half a year since I last saw you. I heard you are planning on going abroad? When is that?”
Xi Wen Chong was a fourth-year student. Gu Xiao Xiao only knew about him because he was a very good student.
Xi Wen Chong was the vice student chair for the student committee in his first year. In his second year, he was promoted to the head chair. That plus his handsome looks made him a rather cool character in University B. Gu Xiao Xiao met him in a debate competition. Then, they ran into each other a few times at school and chatted. Therefore, they were acquaintances at best.
“I did have those plans, but I don’t want to go anymore.” Xi Wen Chong smiled, “I am now a full-time employee at Feng Yang.”
“Ah? Then congratulations are in order!” Gu Xiao Xiao said with a smile, “You sure are capable! I am now an intern at Feng Yang, I don’t know what will end up happening to me yet.”
“There won’t be any problems. I believe in you,” Xi Wen Chong commented, then quickly changed the topic, “Xiao Xiao, do you have time to grab a bite?”
“Grab a bite?” Gu Xiao Xiao was a little startled, she didn’t expect him to ask her to do this. Chu Xiao Xi beside her responded instead.
“Of course, senior, you don’t mind if one more person tags along right?” Chu Xiao Xi grinned at Xi Wen Chong and observed the change in his expression.
“Of course I don’t mind.” Xi Wen Zhong nodded in agreement and the three of them walked out of school shoulder by shoulder.
Many people on campus know Xi Wen Chong and many know of Gu Xiao Xiao and Chu Xiao Xi as well. So, it was impossible to not notice these three as they walked together.
Once they arrived at a restaurant outside of the school, Xi Wen Chong chose a seat that was rather private and warm.
Gu Xiao Xiao and Xi Wen Chong are not close enough to be eating out together. So, Gu Xiao Xiao was unsure as to why Chu Xiao Xi would agree to this invite. Luckily, Xi Wen Chong talked about topics Gu Xiao Xiao was interested in, so throughout the meal, Gu Xiao Xiao never felt awkward.
“Xiao Xiao, your number didn’t change, did it?” After the meal, Xi Wen Chong suddenly asked before bidding goodbye.
“Hmm, it didn’t change,” Gu Xiao Xiao answered, a little stunned. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. I just thought we can stay in contact in the future. We are both at Feng Yang now, so we are considered colleagues.”
Xi Wen Chong left at a slow pace. Chu Xiao Xi squinted her eyes and watched him for a long while before retracting her gaze and looking over to Gu Xiao Xiao instead.
“Why are you looking at me?” Gu Xiao Xiao was confused, “Why did you agree to his invitation out of the blue? What scheme are you thinking of?”
“There is a scheme, but it’s not for certain if it’s my scheme or his.” Chu Xiao Xi smiled eerily, feeling too lazy to explain to Gu Xiao Xiao. Plus, even if she tells her, she was not going to believe her.
Gu Xiao Xiao never knew how popular and likable she was. Back then, she never believed that someone other than Mu Yun Fan would like her.
Now that the news of their breakup has spread, and since not many people know about how she is with Chu Yi Chen, all those tiger-eyed wild wolves who have been watching this little white rabbit are on the prowl. Xi Wen Chong is definitely one of them.
Gu Xiao Xiao made a face. She didn’t really understand what Chu Xiao Xi meant by this but didn’t ask more. She took out her cellphone and called home.
