Chapter 44: You Will for Sure End up more Pitiful than Shi Zi Jian
The one Gu Xiao Xiao ran into was Mu Yun Fan. The person standing behind him was Jin Jing.
Gu Xiao Xiao stared at Jin Jing and her face instantly turned white. Her hands also uncontrollably tightened into fists.
“Oh? Gu Xiao Xiao, you sure are good at timing who to run into,” Jin Jing looked directly at Xiao Xiao and said mockingly.
“Grandma, why are you here?” Mu Yun Fan stared at the person behind Gu Xiao Xiao in shock. He stepped forward and asked, “Are you not feeling well or?”
“Aye, you sure know how to act friendly!” Chu Xiao Xi mimicked Jin Jing’s tone and coldly glared at Mu Yun Fan, “You call her ‘grandma’, yet you wish nothing well on her. She only comes to City B because she’s feeling unwell?”
Shen Qian Yun looked at Mu Yun Fan and then Jin Jing. She smiled. She had already guessed their relationship.
“I am just visiting. It looks like you guys are busy. Then go on, don’t be late for anything,” Shen Qian Yun said in a low voice.
“Grandma, the ones who are busy are us. Let’s not waste time with them and get going.” Chu Xiao Xi held onto Shen Qian Yun’s arm. Too lazy to look at the two people beside her, she kept walking. When she passed by Jin Jing, she did not play nice and bumped Jin Jing, who was in her way, to the side.
“Chu Xiao Xi!” Jin Jing, who stumbled back a few steps shouted her name angrily.
Chu Xiao Xi slowed down and turned her head, meeting Jin Jing’s gaze. “Don’t panic. Between us, we will finish off what we started sooner or later. Believe me, I am going to make sure you end up more pitiful than Shi Zi Jian.”
Chu Xiao Xi uttered out her word one by one, giving Jin Jing a bad feeling.
She hasn’t seen Shi Zi Jian ever since that night at the Emperor City Club. She left first and had no idea what happened afterward. Everyone in the finance industry felt strange about what happened to Shi Zi Jian. Unless he offended someone high up in the field, there was no way something would’ve happened to him so fast. Jin Jing had thought about it and decided it was because of Gu Xiao Xiao.
Just what tricks does a girl like Gu Xiao Xiao, a girl with nothing, have up her sleeves? Twice, Shi Zi Jian failed to get his hands on her. Is she really such a tough bone?
Gu Xiao Xiao and her company took a cab home. Right after entering the door, Shen Qian Yun noticed the spacious rooms and the graceful decors. This had confirmed her guesses from before.
“Grandma, just treat this place like it is your own home. Don’t feel shy!” Chu Xiao Xi announced as she ran into the study, “Xiao Xiao, quickly, go get my sketchbook.”
Chu Xiao Xi took a phone call while in the cab. It seemed like there had been a problem with the manufacturer, which made her stomp her feet with panic.
Shen Qian Yun sat alone on the couch and listened to the two chat inside the study room. Her normally gentle eyes started to change.
The press release next year is getting closer and closer, yet at this critical time, there were issues with the manufacturer.
Chu Xiao Xi places great importance on details. Patterns, design, cut, threading… every single detail is copyrighted. Today’s problem is related to the design. Chu Xiao Xi originally wanted this one print on her design and had already sent people to discuss rights over the print. What Chu Xiao Xi originally got as a response was that the other party had agreed. Just now, however, she found out they never actually got in contact with the owner of the print. This infuriated Chu Xiao Xi.
