As Gu Xiao Xiao talked about this, she too, laughed at Wang Zi Xuan’s original statement.

Chu Xiao Xiao was red in the face from his teasing. She couldn’t win against him so she chose to stop speaking altogether. She looked out the window and enjoyed the night view until they returned to their home and parked the car in the parking lot.

Gu Xiao Xiao unbuckled and then suddenly remembered something. She looked over to Chu Yi Chen with her big eyes and said, “Right, I wanted to tell you something!”

Chu Yi Chen skillfully backed the car into his parking spot and turned it off. He looked over excitedly to Gu Xiao Xiao and had already guessed what she wanted to talk about.

“What’s the good news? You won the lottery?”

“I don’t buy that kind of stuff!” Gu Xiao Xiao raised her head and said as if flaunting, “I officially turned into a full-time employee today! I am now an official employee of Feng Yang Corporation! My boss surely is intelligent with a sharp vision. They know I am full of potential and hired me in advance!”

“If I remember correctly, you called your boss inhumane right in front of me.” The smile in Chu Yi Chen’s eyes deepened. He thought Gu Xiao Xiao had no idea that her face right now looked like a student waiting for her parents’ praises.

“I…” Chu Yi Chen brought up the past and Gu Xiao Xiao’s smile froze on her face, “I was misguided by you! That doesn’t count!”

Gu Xiao Xiao pushed open the door and left the car. After Chu Yi Chen locked the door, the two headed upstairs together.

“Since you have a chance to prove your capability, then don’t overthink it. Just treat their voices like wind blowing past your ear. It’ll all blow over.”

“Okay.” Gu Xiao Xiao nodded. The two entered the elevator and pressed the down button. Gu Xiao Xiao’s eyes stared deadly at those numbers.

After a ding, the elevator door opened. Gu Xiao Xiao left first and headed for Chu Xiao Xi’s unit.

Suddenly, someone grabbed her wrist from behind, stopping her body from moving forward. She turned her head to look at Chu Yi Chen, then she heard him say.

“Say, should we just lay it all out before grandma and tell her the truth?”

Gu Xiao Xiao gasped, surprised at Chu Yi Chen’s suggestion. She shook her head and without thinking, she said, “Grandma is old now and cannot handle news like this. We cannot tell her now!”
